2016 Ulster Senior Football Championship
The 2016 Ulster Senior Football Championship was the 128th instalment of the annual Ulster Senior Football Championship held under the auspices of the Ulster GAA. It is one of the four provincial competitions of the 2016 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. The competition ran from to 15 May to 17 July 2016. The draw for the Championship was made on 16 October 2015. As in the previous two seasons, the two sides were named as A and B, to allow for teams to more easily predict the dates of their qualifier matches. Armagh, Cavan, Derry, and Tyrone were named to the A side, with Antrim, Donegal, Down, Fermanagh and Monaghan on the B side. Monaghan were the defending champions following their victory over Donegal in the final of the 2015 Championship. Tyrone beat Donegal 0-13 to 0-11 in the 2016 final. Mickey Harte
Mickey Harte (born 1952) is an Irish Gaelic football Manager (Gaelic games), manager and former player. He has been manager of the Louth county football team, Louth county team since 2020. Harte managed the Tyrone county football team, Tyrone county team from 2002 until his resignation in 2020, at which time he was the longest-serving manager then active with the same team in inter-county competition. He is the most successful senior manager in the county's history, having led it to its only three All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, All-Ireland SFC titles, as well as six Ulster Senior Football Championship, Ulster SFC titles, one National Football League (Ireland), National League and twelve Dr McKenna Cups. The Fermanagh County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael, Coiste Chontae Fear Manach) or Fermanagh GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland and is responsible for the administration of Gaelic games in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland.
