2016 USA Women's Sevens
The 2016 USA Sevens was the third tournament within the 2015–16 World Rugby Women's Sevens Series. It was held over the weekend of 8–9 April 2016 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in the Atlanta suburb of Kennesaw, Georgia. Australia won the tournament, defeating New Zealand by 24–19 in the final. Format The teams were drawn into three pools of four teams each. Each team played everyone in their pool one time. The top two teams from each pool advanced to the Cup/Plate brackets while the top 2 third place teams will also compete in the Cup/Plate. The rest of the teams from each group went to the Bowl brackets. 2015–16 World Rugby Women's Sevens Series
The 2015–16 World Rugby Women's Sevens Series was the fourth edition of the World Rugby Women's Sevens Series (formerly the IRB Women's Sevens World Series), an annual series of tournaments organised by World Rugby for women's national teams in rugby sevens. The tour was a companion to the 2015–16 World Rugby Sevens Series for men. The series was won by who won three tour events on their way to claiming their first World Series title. 2017 USA Women's Sevens
The 2017 USA Women's Sevens was the third tournament of the 2016–17 World Rugby Women's Sevens Series, held from March 3–5, 2017 at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Whitney, Nevada, a community in the Las Vegas area. This was the first edition of the Women's Sevens held alongside the USA Sevens men's tournament. Format The teams were drawn into three pools of four teams each. Fifth Third Bank Stadium
Fifth Third Bank Stadium, known as Kennesaw State University Stadium until 2013, is a stadium near Kennesaw, Georgia, that is primarily used as the home for the Kennesaw State Owls football team as well as the KSU women's soccer and women's lacrosse teams. It was built as a soccer-specific stadium and opened May 2, 2010, with the first match played on May 9. Kennesaw, Georgia
Kennesaw is a suburban city northwest of Atlanta in Cobb County, Georgia, United States, located within the greater Atlanta metropolitan area. Known from its original settlement in the 1830s until 1887 as Big Shanty, it became Kennesaw under its 1887 charter.
