2016 Tour Of California
The 2016 Amgen Tour of California was the eleventh edition of the Tour of California cycling stage race. It was held from May 15–22, and rated as a 2.HC event on the UCI America Tour. It began in San Diego and finished in Sacramento. Schedule Teams 18 teams were selected to take part in the race. 10 UCI WorldTeams were invited, along with 3 Professional Continental teams and 5 Continental teams. 2016 UCI America Tour
The 2016 UCI America Tour was the twelfth season for the UCI America Tour. The season began on January 8, 2016 with the Vuelta al Táchira and ended on October 2, 2016 with the Tobago Cycling Classic. The points leader, based on the cumulative results of previous races, wears the UCI America Tour cycling jersey. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determines how many points are awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points are awarded. Ben King (cyclist)
Benjamin T. "Ben" King (born March 22, 1989) is an American professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam . King turned professional in 2008. Personal Born in Richmond, Virginia, King spent his adolescence in North Garden, Virginia, United States. He now resides in North Garden and Lucca, Tuscany, Italy. King graduated from Monticello High School, in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2007. He attended Virginia Tech, in Blacksburg, Virginia, between 2008 and 2009. Individual Time Trial
An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock (in French: ''contre la montre'' – literally "against the watch", in Italian: ''tappa a cronometro'' " stopwatch stage"). There are also track-based time trials where riders compete in velodromes, and team time trials (TTT). ITTs are also referred to as "the race of truth", as winning depends only on each rider's strength and endurance, and not on help provided by teammates and others riding ahead and creating a slipstream. Folsom is a city in Sacramento County, California, United States. It is commonly known for Folsom State Prison, the song " Folsom Prison Blues" by Johnny Cash, as well as for Folsom Lake. Toms Skujiņš (born 15 June 1991) is a Latvian professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career In 2013 and 2015, Skujiņš received the Cyclist of the Year award presented by Latvian Cycling Federation. In 2014, Skujiņš dominated the Canadian race Tour de Beauce, winning its queen stage atop Mont Mégantic and the last stage. Lodi ( ) is a city located in San Joaquin County, California, in the center portion of California's Central Valley. The population was 62,134 at the 2010 census. Laguna Seca Raceway (branded as WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and previously Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca) is a paved road racing track in central California used for both auto racing and motorcycle racing, built in 1957 near both Salinas and Monterey, California, United States. Morro Bay (''Morro'', Spanish for "Hill") is a seaside city in San Luis Obispo County, California.
