The 2016 TAC Cup Nanjing Challenger was a professional tennis tournament played on clay courts. It was the sixth edition of the tournament which was part of the 2016 ATP Challenger Tour. Clay Court
A clay court is one of the types of tennis court on which the sport of tennis, originally known as "lawn tennis", is played. Clay courts are made of crushed stone, brick, shale, or other unbound mineral aggregate depending on the tournament. The French Open uses clay courts, the only Grand Slam tournament to do so. Clay courts are more common in Continental Europe and Latin America than in North America, Asia-Pacific or Britain. Two main types exist: red clay, the more common variety, and green clay, also known as "rubico", which is a harder surface. Although less expensive to construct than other types of tennis courts, the maintenance costs of clay are high as the surface must be rolled to preserve flatness. Zhang Ze
Zhang Ze (; ; born July 4, 1990), is a Chinese male tennis player. Zhang's career highlights include reaching the quarterfinals of the 2012 China Open (defeating Richard Gasquet en route), playing the Australian Open main draw in two consecutive years (2014 and 2015), and teaming up with Roger Federer to play doubles at the 2013 Shanghai Rolex Masters. Career Zhang's early years were spent on the ITF Circuit throughout Asia. Denys Petrovych Molchanov ( uk, Денис Петрович Молчанов; born 16 May 1987) is a Ukrainian tennis player playing on the ATP Challenger Tour winning 15 singles and 62 doubles titles. He has also won one ATP doubles title. On 5 January 2015 he reached his highest ATP singles ranking of World No. 169, whilst his highest doubles ranking of No. 63 was reached on 22 July 2019. Andrew Whittington (tennis)
Andrew Whittington (born 11 August 1993) is a former Australian professional tennis player. Whittington has now turned to coaching, he will be coaching former doubles partner and current professional Australian tennis player Alex Bolt for the upcoming 2022 summer. He made the world's top 200 in August 2016 following a semi-final run at the 2016 Kentucky Bank Tennis Championships. Grega Žemlja
Grega Žemlja (born 29 September 1986) is a retired Slovenian tennis player. He has won five singles titles and one doubles title on the ATP Challenger Tour. In 2012, he reached the third round of the US Open, the first Slovenian male player ever to reach that stage in a Grand Slam tournament.
