2016 Svenska Cupen Final
The 2016 Svenska Cupen final was played on 5 May 2016. The match was played at Swedbank Stadion, Malmö, the home ground of Malmö FF, determined in a draw on 21 March 2016 after the semi-finals. The final was the culmination of the 2015–16 Svenska Cupen. Allsvenskan clubs Malmö FF and BK Häcken contested the 2016 final, with the winner earning a place in the second qualifying round of the 2016–17 UEFA Europa League. Malmö FF played their first final since 1996 and their 18th final in total, BK Häcken played their first final since 1990 and their second final in total. BK Häcken won their first Svenska Cupen title after defeating Malmö FF 6–5 on penalties after the match had finished 2–2 after extra time. 2015–16 Svenska Cupen
The 2015–16 Svenska Cupen will be the 60th season of Svenska Cupen and the fourth season with the current format. The winners of the competition will earn a place in the second qualifying round of the 2016–17 UEFA Europa League. A total of 96 clubs will enter the competition. The final was played on 5 May 2016 and contested between Malmö FF and BK Häcken at Swedbank Stadion, Malmö, with BK Häcken winning. Teams Round and draw dates The schedule of the competition is as follows. Qualifying rounds The only two associations of the Swedish District Football Associations that had a qualifying round were Dalarnas FF and Örebro Läns FF, with the teams from other districts being determined though district championships or by club ranking in 2014. Götene IF is a Swedish football club located in Götene, Västra Götaland County. Background Since their foundation on 24 July 1924, Götene IF has participated mainly in the lower divisions of the Swedish football league system. Markus Rosenberg
Nils Markus Rosenberg (; born 27 September 1982) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a forward. He spent the majority of his career with his boyhood club Malmö FF, as well as a notable five-year stint with German Bundesliga side Werder Bremen. Rosenberg served as captain of Malmö from 2015 to 2019. Rosenberg won 33 caps for the Sweden national team, scoring 6 goals, and represented them at the 2006 FIFA World Cup, UEFA Euro 2008, and UEFA Euro 2012. Ängelholms FF is a football club based in Ängelholm, Sweden. The club is affiliated to Skånes Fotbollförbund and play their home games at Ängelholms IP.
