2016 PDP National Convention
The 2016 PDP National Convention was held on Saturday, 21 May 2016 at the Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. It marked the first time the National Convention took place outside Abuja, Nigeria's federal capital. The convention drew delegates from the 36 states, as well as the 12 governors of the PDP, national and state assembly members, former governors, Board of Trustees members and former National Working Committee members. Among those who graced the convention were the Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, Senator Godswill Akpabio and former Senate President David Mark. Although well attended, incumbent acting chair of the National Working Committee Ali Modu Sheriff withdrew from the event earlier that day. Sheriff had announced a postponement of the convention over legal issues. This however didn't go down well with some members who declared that the convention must go on as scheduled. Sharks Stadium
Sharks Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Part of the Alfred Diete-Spiff Rivers State sports complex, it is used mostly for football (soccer), football matches and is the home stadium of Sharks F.C. Darius Ishaku
Darius Dickson Ishaku, FNIA, FNITP CON (born 30 July 1954) is a Nigerian architect, urban planner, university lecturer and politician. He is a member of the People's Democratic Party and the Governor of Taraba State. Early life Ishaku was born on 30 July 1954 to Mr Ishaku Istifanus and Mrs Naomi at Lupwe in Ussa Local Government Area of Taraba State. He is the fifth of ten children from his family. Peoples Democratic Party (Nigeria)
The Peoples Democratic Party is one of the two major contemporary political parties in Nigeria, along with its main rival, the All Progressives Congress. Its policies generally lie towards the centre-right of the political spectrum. PDP National Working Committee
The PDP National Working Committee, also known by its acronym NWC, is the executive committee of the People's Democratic Party in Nigeria. The NWC is composed of 12 members, all of whom are elected to a four-year term at the party's National Convention. The NWC is headed by the chairperson, who also functions as the party's national chair. Abdul Ningi
Abdul Ahmed Ningi (born , 1960) was a Deputy Majority Leader of the Nigerian Senate. A member of People's Democratic Party (PDP), he served as a Senator representing Bauchi central senatorial district from 2011 to 2015. Bauchi Central senatorial zone includes the local government areas of Danbam, Darazo, Ganjuwa, Misau, Ningi, and Warji. Adedayo Clement Adeyeye is a Nigerian politician. Background Adeyeye Clement Adedayo was born on 4 April 1957 in Ikere-Ekiti, to the royal family of Oba David Opeyemi Adeyeye, Agunsoye II, the Arinjale of Ise Ekiti (who reigned between 1932 and 1976), and Olori Mary Ojulege Adeyeye, a princess of Are, Ikere-Ekiti.
