2016 Orlando Pride Season
The 2016 season is Orlando Pride's inaugural season. The team competes in the National Women's Soccer League, the top division of women's soccer in the United States. Team launch The team was launched at a press conference held at Lake Eola Park in Downtown Orlando on October 20, 2015. At that time, it was announced that Tom Sermanni, previously the manager of both the Australian and United States women's national teams, would be the team's first manager. It was also announced that the team would share its home with Orlando City SC, beginning at Camping World Stadium in 2016, and eventually moving to Orlando City Stadium. Orlando Pride
The Orlando Pride is a professional women's soccer team based in Orlando, Florida. The team joined the National Women's Soccer League, the top level of women's soccer in the US, for the 2016 season. It became the tenth team to be added to the league. It is affiliated with the MLS team Orlando City SC and play their home games at Exploria Stadium in downtown Orlando. Kaylyn McKenzie Kyle (born October 6, 1988) is a former Canadian soccer player who last played as a midfielder for the Orlando Pride in the National Women's Soccer League. She was also a member of Canada women's national soccer team, winning a bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and is a Right To Play ambassador. She currently serves as a soccer broadcaster. Josée Bélanger (born May 14, 1986) is a Canadian retired Association football, soccer player who played for Orlando Pride in the National Women's Soccer League and for the Canada women's national soccer team, Canadian national team. Club career Bélanger signed with FC Rosengård in August 2015. Toni Deion Pressley (born February 19, 1990) is an American professional soccer defender. Kaitlyn Marie Savage (born October 27, 1990) is an American professional association football, soccer player who last played for Orlando Pride in the National Women's Soccer League. Playing career Savage joined Perth Glory FC (W-League), Perth Glory in January 2013 following an injury to Carly Telford. Savage represented Adelaide United FC (W-League), Adelaide United in the 2015–16 W-League and won the Goalkeeper of the Year award. Fortuna Hjørring is a women's association football team from Hjørring, Denmark. The club was formed in 1966 and play in green and white. Their biggest achievement in European football was reaching the 2002–03 UEFA Women's Cup final where they ultimately lost 1–7 on aggregate to Umeå IK.
