2016 Ole Miss Rebels Baseball Team
The 2016 Ole Miss Rebels baseball team represented the University of Mississippi in the 2016 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Rebels played their home games at Swayze Field. Previous season In 2015, the Rebels finished 30-28 overall and 15-14 in conference play. Despite entering the postseason with high hopes, the Rebels lost their only game of the SEC Tournament and lost two straight in the Los Angeles Regional of the 2015 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament to finish the season. 2015 MLB Draft Selections Four Rebels were selected in the 2015 MLB draft, along with two incoming players who chose to join the team. Mike Bianco
Michael F. Bianco (born May 3, 1967) is an American baseball coach and former catcher, who is the current head baseball coach of the Ole Miss Rebels baseball, Ole Miss Rebels. He played college baseball at Indian River Community College before transferring to LSU Tigers baseball, LSU where he played for coach Skip Bertman from 1988 to 1989. Bianco served as the head coach of the McNeese State Cowboys baseball, McNeese State Cowboys (1998–2000) before being named head coach at Ole Miss. He has led the Rebels to two College World Series appearances (2014 College World Series, 2014 and 2022 College World Series, 2022), with Ole Miss winning their first national championship in 2022. The 2016 Cincinnati Bearcats baseball team represents the University of Cincinnati during the 2016 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Bearcats play their home games at Marge Schott Stadium as a member of the American Athletic Conference. The 2016 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers baseball team represented Coastal Carolina University in the 2016 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Chanticleers played their home games at Springs Brooks Stadium, on campus in Conway, South Carolina. Gary Gilmore was in his 21st season as the Chanticleers' coach. An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. As an outfielder, their duty is to catch fly balls and ground balls then to return them to the infield for the out or before the runner advances, if there are any runners on the bases.
