2016 North Alabama Lions Football Team
The 2016 North Alabama Lions football team represented the University of North Alabama during the 2016 NCAA Division II football season. They were led by head coach Bobby Wallace, who was in his 15th season at North Alabama. The Lions played their home games at Braly Municipal Stadium and were members of the Gulf South Conference. Schedule North Alabama announced its 2016 football schedule on February 9, 2016. The schedule consists of both five home and away games in the regular season. The Lions will host GSC foes Shorter, Valdosta State, West Florida, and West Georgia, and will travel to Delta State, Florida Tech, Mississippi College, and West Alabama. Bobby Wallace (American Football)
Robert Hue Wallace (born September 17, 1954) is an American former college football coach and athletics administrator. He served as head football coach at the University of North Alabama at 1988 to 1997 and again from 2012 to 2016, at Temple University from 1998 to 2005, and at the University of West Alabama from 2006 to 2010. Wallace led the North Alabama Lions to three consecutive NCAA Division II Football Championships, from 1993 to 1995. He was also the athletic director at West Alabama from 2018 to 2021. Playing career Wallace was a multi-sport athlete at Callaway High School in Jackson, Mississippi, lettering three years each in football, basketball, baseball, and track. He also earned prep All-America honors before enrolling at Mississippi State University. Livingston is a city in and the county seat of Sumter County, Alabama, United States and the home of the University of West Alabama. Jacksonville is a city in Calhoun County, Alabama, United States. As of the 2010 census the population was 12,548, which is a 49% increase since 2000.
