2016 Kazakhstan Cup
The 2016 Kazakhstan Cup was the 25th season of the Kazakhstan Cup, the annual nationwide Association football, football cup competition of Kazakhstan since the independence of the country. The competition began on 21 March 2016 and end with the final on 19 November 2016. FC Astana, Astana defeated defending champions FC Kairat, Kairat 1–0 in the final to win their first Kazakhstan Cup since 2012 Kazakhstan Cup, 2012. FC Ordabasy, Ordabasy qualified for the 2017–18 UEFA Europa League#First qualifying round, first qualifying round of the 2017–18 UEFA Europa League after finishing 4th in the league, as both FC Astana, Astana and FC Kairat, Kairat had already secured European football for the following season. FC Kairat
Football Club Kairat ( kk, Qaırat Fýtbol Klýby) is a professional association football, football club based in Almaty, which plays in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest level of Football in Kazakhstan, Kazakh football. Founded in 1954 as Lokomotiv Alma-Ata, they became Urozhay in 1955 and Kairat in 1956. The club's home ground is the Central Stadium (Almaty), Central Stadium which has a capacity of 23,804. The club's home kit colours are yellow and black striped shirts, black shorts and black socks. Kairat was the leading Kazakh club during the Soviet period and the only representative of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic in the Soviet Top League. Football Club Aktobe ( kk, Aqtóbe Fýtbol Klýby), commonly referred to as FC Aktobe or simply Aktobe, is a professional football club based in Aktobe. They last played in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest level of Kazakh football. Football Club Caspiy ( kk, Каспий Ақтау Футбол Клубы, ''Kaspıı Aqtaý Fýtbol Klýby'') is a Kazakhstani football club based at the Zhastar Stadium in Aktau.
