2016 Italian F4 Championship
The 2016 Italian F4 Championship Powered by Abarth was the third season of the Italian F4 Championship. It began on 9 April in Misano and finished on 30 October in Monza after seven triple header rounds. Teams and drivers Race calendar The calendar was published on 23 November 2015. Due to the large number of entries for the season, the race format was radically changed. Drivers were placed in three groups (A, B and C) depending on their qualifying placement. Each group contested two qualifying races, facing one of the other groups in each race. After the three qualifying races, the 36 (32 in Adria) drivers having scored the most points contested the final race. All four races were 25 minutes plus one lap in length and yield the same number of points. After the number of entries declined from 41 to 31 for the second round, the series reverted to the classical three-race format used in 2015 from the third round onwards. Italian F4 Championship
Italian Formula 4 Championship is the first formula racing series regulated according to FIA Formula 4 regulations. The inaugural season was the 2014 Italian F4 Championship, effectively replacing the Formula Abarth. History Gerhard Berger and the FIA Singleseater Commission launched the FIA Formula 4 in March 2013. The goal of the Formula 4 is to make the ladder to Formula 1 more transparent. Besides sporting and technical regulations, costs are regulated too. A car to compete in this category may not exceed €30,000 in purchase. A single season in Formula 4 may not exceed €100,000 in costs. The Italian Formula 4 was the first FIA Formula 4 championship to be launched. Bhaitech Racing (sometimes stylised as BhaiTech Racing) was an Italian automotive research and development service provider and motorsport team. History Racing Bhaitech made its racing debut in 2012, contesting the Italian GT Championship using a McLaren 12C GT3. A year later, the team contested the International GT Open and clinched the GTS Teams' and Drivers' titles with Giorgio Pantano. In 2014, BhaiTech competed in the Blancpain Sprint Series which saw them finish seventh in the Cup category of the Teams' Championship. Kush Maini (born 22 September 2000) is an Indian racing driver currently competing in the 2023 Formula 2 Championship for Campos Racing. He has previously competed in Formula 4, the Formula Renault Eurocup, the FIA World Endurance Championship, the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship, and most recently FIA Formula 3. Federico Malvestiti (born 12 June 2000) is an Italian racing driver who most recently competed in the FIA F3 Championship for Jenzer Motorsport. He is a race winner in the Italian F4 Championship. Career Karting Malvestiti was born in Monza, and began karting in 2010 in events such as Easykart International Grand Final and Trofeo Nazionale Easykart. Italian F4 Malvestiti's first outing in single seaters was in Italian F4 in 2015 with Antonelli Motorsport where he competed in two rounds, finishing no higher than 12th. Fabio Luca Scherer (born 13 June 1999) is a racing driver from Switzerland, currently competing in the endurance racing, representing Inter Europol Competition in the FIA World Endurance Championship. Scherer started his single-seater career in 2016, staying in Formula 4 series for two seasons. In 2018 he moved to 2018 FIA Formula 3 European Championship, racing for Motopark Academy. Thomas Preining
Thomas Preining (born 21 July 1998) is an Austrian racing driver who is the 2018 German Porsche Carrera Cup champion. Career Formula 4 Preining's first season in single seaters was in 2015 with German team ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg where he competed at the first two rounds in the ADAC Formula 4 Championship where he got a podium in only his third race at this level at Oschersleben.
