The 2016 Indonesian Masters Grand Prix Gold (officially known as the Yonex Sunrise Indonesian Masters 2016 for sponsorship reasons) was the 13th grand prix's badminton tournament of the 2016 BWF Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix. The tournament was held at the Balikpapan Sport and Convention Center in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Indonesia on 6 to 11 September 2016 and had a total purse of $120,000. Chong Wei Feng (born 26 May 1987) is a Malaysian retired badminton player. He was drafted into the national team in 2004. His best achievement is reaching the semi-finals of the 2012 and 2013 China Open, where he was defeated by Chen Long on both occasions. Background Chong was born on 26 May 1987 in Sungai Petani, Kedah. Chong started playing badminton at the age of nine, where he went to a private coaching centre. Xue Song (; born 22 January 1994) is a Chinese badminton player who specializes in men's singles. Career In 2002, Xue was sent to train at the badminton school in Jiangsu, and at aged 13, he won the national junior title in singles and doubles event. At the age of 15, he trained in Hong Kong for two years, then he joined the badminton club in Guangdong. In 2011, he was selected to join the national team. Soo Teck Zhi (born 4 August 1995) is a Malaysian badminton player. He participated at the Vietnam Open 2012, 2012 India Open Grand Prix Gold, 2012 Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold and the 2013 Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold. In 2013 he won the gold medal at the Asian Junior Championships in the boys' singles event. Goh Soon Huat (born 27 June 1990) is a Malaysian badminton player. He was a part of the Malaysia team that won bronze in the men's team event at the Incheon 2014 Asian Games. Anthony Sinisuka Ginting
Anthony Sinisuka Ginting (; born October 20, 1996) is an Indonesian badminton player. He first rose to prominence when he won the bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games. At the 2020 Olympics, he won bronze in the men's singles event. He became the first Youth Olympic badminton medalist to win a medal at the Olympics, having also won bronze in 2014. Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin
Iskandar Zulkarnain bin Zainuddin (born 24 May 1991) is a Malaysian badminton player and coach. He represented Malaysia as the third singles in the 2018 Thomas Cup and helped Malaysia qualify for the quarter finals. Iskandar was appointed as part of the Irish badminton coaching staff in 2021. He was the 2004 Olympic bronze medalist, two-time World Championships medalist (silver–2007, bronze–2009) and three-time Asian Champion (2002, 2003, 2005).
