2016 Indiana Hoosiers Football Team
The 2016 Indiana Hoosiers football team represented Indiana University Bloomington during the 2016 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Hoosiers competed in the East Division of the Big Ten Conference and played their home games at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana. They were led by head coach Kevin Wilson, who was in his sixth season, for twelve games. Following their win against Purdue, the Hoosiers became bowl eligible for the second year in a row and were invited to the Foster Farms Bowl. On December 1, 2016, Indiana announced that Kevin Wilson had been dismissed due to "philosophical differences", and that Tom Allen would permanently succeed Wilson as head coach, beginning at the bowl game. Kevin Wilson (American Football)
Kevin Reece Wilson (born October 23, 1961) is an American football coach and former player who currently serves as the head coach at the University of Tulsa. He will continue to serve as the offensive coordinator at Ohio State University through the 2022 season. Wilson served as head coach at Indiana University from 2011 to 2016 and was the offensive coordinator at the University of Oklahoma from 2002 to 2010. Playing career Wilson played offensive line and linebacker at Maiden High School. He was all-conference for two seasons and for his senior season was named to the ''Charlotte Observer'' All-Piedmont team. He went on to play center and guard for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels as a walk-on. After two seasons as a walk-on he earned a scholarship. He earned a degree in Education in 1984, and then became a graduate assistant for three years while working on a master's degree in Physical Education. The 2015 Duke Blue Devils football team represented Duke University in the 2015 NCAA Division I FBS football season as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in the Coastal Division. Nathan Michael Sudfeld (born October 7, 1993) is an American football quarterback for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Indiana and was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the sixth round in the 2016 NFL Draft.
