2016 Global RallyCross Championship
The 2016 Red Bull Global RallyCross Championship was the sixth season of the Global RallyCross Championship. Scott Speed was the reigning Supercars champion and Oliver Eriksson was the reigning GRC Lites champion. The schedule consisted of twelve rounds at eight different venues. The season started at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park on May 21 and it concluded at the Port of Los Angeles on October 9. Schedule A twelve-round provisional calendar was revealed on January 26, 2016 with the sixth, seventh and eighth round to be announced, though it was certain the sixth and seventh round would take place on a military base. On March 3, 2016 GRC announced the eighth round would take place in Atlantic City and on June 1, 2016 GRC announced the sixth and seventh round would take place at the Marine Corps Air Station New River. Global RallyCross Championship
The TitansRX International Series (formerly known as Red Bull Global Rallycross or Global Rallycross) is a group of rallycross series, currently organised by racing driver Max Pucher and businessman Chip Pankow. The initial series was series run in North America in 2011 and ran for seven seasons until the series folded in 2018, where the series was replaced by the Americas Rallycross Championship. In late-2018, Max Pucher revived the brand and set up the series Titans-RX Europe, starting in 2019 and the International Series planned to start in 2021. The 2020 campaign was scaled back to a one-make single race in March before resuming in 2021. Stephen Arpin (born December 16, 1983) is a Canadian race car driver competing in Nitro Rallycross. He previously raced stock cars in the ARCA Racing Series, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the Nationwide Series. His first season with ARCA was in 2009, finishing 7th in the championship standings and winning the ARCA RE/MAX Series Most Popular Driver Award. Monroe is a city in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. It is located at the confluence of the Skykomish, Snohomish, and Snoqualmie rivers near the Cascade foothills, about northeast of Seattle. Evergreen Speedway
Evergreen Speedway is an automobile racetrack located within the confines of the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe, Washington. The stadium can accommodate up to 7500 spectators in the covered grandstand and an additional 7500 in the uncovered modular grandstands. The layout of the track is unique in that it incorporates an oversized 5/8-mile paved outer oval, a 3/8-mile paved inner oval, a 1/5-mile paved inner oval, a 1/8-mile dragstrip, and the #2 ranked figure-eight track in the United States. The track is the only sanctioned NASCAR track in Washington State. Evergreen Speedway hosts Formula D the third weekend in July every year.
