2016 Football West Season
The 2016 Football West season was the third season under the new competition format in Western Australia. The overall premier for the new structure – Perth – qualified for the National Premier Leagues finals series, competing with the other Federation champions in a final knockout tournament to decide the National Premier Leagues Champion for 2016. Pre-season changes League tables 2016 National Premier Leagues WA The 2016 National Premier Leagues WA season was played over 22 rounds commencing 19 March 2016, followed by the return of a Top 4 Finals series. Despite the flagged return of a promotion/relegation system for the bottom team, it was determined after the season ended that no State League Division One club met all the criteria for promotion, and that the teams in the 2017 season would remain unchanged. National Premier Leagues Western Australia
The National Premier Leagues Western Australia is a regional Australian semi-professional soccer league comprising teams from Western Australia. The league name is often abbreviated to NPL Western Australia or NPL WA. As a subdivision of the National Premier Leagues, the league is the highest level of the Western Australian league system (Level 2 of the overall Australian league system). Joondalup United FC
Joondalup United Football Club is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in the northern suburbs of Perth, with grounds at Forrest Park in Padbury, Prince Regent Park in Heathridge, Charonia Reserve in Mullaloo, and Beldon Park in Beldon. They currently compete in the Football West State League Division 1 and use Forrest Park as their home ground for their senior teams. History The club was established in 2000 within the Perth amateur leagues. Football West State League Division 1
The Football West State League Division 1 is a regional Australian semi-professional association football league comprising teams from Western Australia. The league sits at Level 2 on the Western Australian league system (Level 3 of the overall Australian league system). The competition is administered by Football West, the governing body of the sport in the state. The league has been called the All Flags State League Division 1 due to sponsorship arrangements since 2011. Format The league operates with a promotion and relegation system. Promotion for the Champion of the Division to the National Premier Leagues Western Australia (NPL WA) was introduced for the 2015 season, and is subject to eligibility criteria. Subiaco AFC
Subiaco AFC (Amateur Football Club) is a soccer club based in the city of Subiaco, Western Australia, with their home grounds at Rosalie Park. They are considered one of the biggest footballing teams in the state, with over 110 teams participating in various Football West competitions. History Early Years The club was formed originally in 1910 as the Subiaco British Association Football Club. Playing in black and white, they competed in WA British Football Association League at the Perth Oval and Wellington Square. In 1914 however, all play was suspended for six years due to World War 1. 1920s Subiaco returned to the field in 1923, this time wearing the current colours of maroon and gold. It was also during this time where the club began to grow and was able to field junior and reserve teams by the mid-1920s. Perth Glory FC Youth
Perth Glory Under-23s is the youth system of Perth Glory Football Club based in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. The academy teams play in the Y-League and National Premier Leagues (U20, U18, U15). Perth Glory Youth is the highest level squad within the setup. They play in the National Premier Leagues and play the majority of their home games at Hartfield Park (known for sponsorship reasons as Crazy Domains Stadium) in Forrestfield. Youth team history Perth Glory first entered a youth team in the 2002 Soccer West Coast Premier League as Future Glory. The team coached by Frank Arok finished seventh out of 12 teams in the league. Cockburn City SC
Cockburn City Soccer Club is an Australian soccer club currently playing in the National Premier Leagues Western Australia. They play their home games at Dalmatinac Park and train at Beale Park. History Cockburn City Soccer Club's origin goes back to 1929 when they were known as Spearwood Rovers, and after the 1964 season they amalgamated with Britannia (who had renamed a year earlier from Fremantle City) to become Cockburn United. A few months earlier, some of the Spearwood Rovers club had joined forces with Balkans Dalmatinac, to create Fremantle Dalmatinac (who were renamed Spearwood Dalmatinac in 1974). The two clubs enjoyed success in the period after, with facilities close to each other at Dalmatinac Park and Beale Park. Balcatta Etna Football Club is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in Balcatta, Perth, Western Australia. They compete in the National Premier Leagues Western Australia. History In the first year, 1978, playing at the new home ground, Reader Reserve in Hector St, Mt Yokine. Etna acquired fifth position on the ladder. In the second year, 1979, Etna finished seventh position on the ladder. In 2013 the club changed its name from Balcatta Soccer Club to Balcatta FC.
