2016 Finali Mondiali
The 2016 Finali Mondiali was the 2016 edition of the season-ending event for all Ferrari Challenge championships. Held at the Daytona International Speedway in the United States for the first time, the event saw drivers from the Asia-Pacific, European and North American championships take part. It was the last season in which the Ferrari 458 was used in the headline class, replaced in 2017 with the Ferrari 488, 488. Ferrari Challenge
The Ferrari Challenge is a single-marque motorsport championship that was created in 1993 for owners of the 348 Berlinetta who wanted to become involved in racing. The series was proposed by Ferrari Club Nederland founder and President Hans Hugenholtz to Carlo Tazzioli and Michele Sofisti who were in charge of Ferrari Deutschland. Hugenholtz wrote the sporting rules and Ferrari's Roberto Vaglietti was responsible for the technical rules. For 1995 a kit was made available to convert the 355 for the Challenge before race-ready Challenge cars could be ordered in 1996. Russell William "Rusty" Wallace Jr. (born August 14, 1956) is an American former NASCAR racing driver. He has won the 1984 NASCAR Cup series Rookie of the Year and the 1989 NASCAR Winston Cup Championship. Manuela Gostner
Manuela Gostner (born 19 May 1984 in Bolzano) is a racing driver from Italy. Biography A member of the Gostner family synonymous with Ferrari Challenge competition, Manuela entered the European championship with encouragement from her brother David at the end of the 2014 season. She became a regular name in the amateur Coppa Shell class over the coming years, winning two races in 2018. Having entered the 2017 GT4 European Series Northern Cup to earn an FIA Bronze Licence, she was picked up by Kessel Racing to make up an all-female entry into the European Le Mans Series, with plans to make the grid for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Claudio Schiavoni
Claudio Schiavoni (born 14 November 1960) is an Italian racing driver currently competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the European Le Mans Series for Iron Lynx. Schiavoni previously competed in the Ferrari Challenge, Blancpain GT Sports Club and Michelin Le Mans Cup with Kessel Racing and Scuderia Niki. Schiavoni has competed in the Gulf 12 Hours three times, finishing 3rd in his class for Kessel Racing in 2016 and 2017. Zekelman Industries is a Canadian company owned by the Zekelman family, including billionaires Barry, Clayton, and Alan Zekelman. They own Atlas Tube, a steel tubing manufacturer in Canada and the US. History Atlas Tube was founded in 1984 by Harry Zekelman. A majority stake was sold to the Carlyle Group in 2006 for $1.5 billion CND. Loris Kessel (1 April 1950 – 15 May 2010) was a racing driver from Switzerland. Biography He was born in Lugano and died in Montagnola following a long illness. He participated in six Formula One World Championship Grands Prix, debuting on 2 May 1976. He scored no championship points. In 1976, he drove a Brabham for RAM, and in 1977 he drove his own Apollon- Williams, although this car was not a success. Kessel ran a series of car dealerships in Switzerland and his own racing team, competing in Ferrari Challenge series in Italy and the main European series. Alf Barbagallo (born 3 May 1942) is a former racing car driver and businessman in Perth, Western Australia. Barbagallo won six Western Australian Sprintcar Championships, in 1967–68, 1972–73, 1973–74, 1977–78, 1978–79 and 1981–82. He finished second in 1965–66, 1979–80 and 1982–83. Vladimir Atoev (born 22 January 1999) is a Russian racing driver. Career Karting Prior to his single-seater career, Atoev enjoyed a successful period in karting, winning the Russian Karting Championship Supermini class in 2009 and finishing second in the KF3 class two years later. Outside of his native Russia, he finished sixth in the KF3 WSK Final Cup in 2012. Formula 4 Atoev made his single-seater debut in 2014, racing in the French F4 Championship. He finished the season in eleventh place, with a best race result of fourth achieved at both Nogaro and Paul Ricard. The Ferrari 488 (Type F142M) is a mid-engine sports car produced by the Italian automobile manufacturer Ferrari. The car replaced the 458, being the first mid-engine Ferrari to use a turbocharged V8 since the F40. It was succeeded by the Ferrari F8.
