2016 European Formula 3 Season
The 2016 FIA Formula 3 European Championship was a multi-event Motorsport#Motor racing, motor racing championship for single-seat Open-wheel car, open wheel Formula racing, formula racing cars that is held across Europe. The championship features drivers competing in Formula Three, two-litre Formula Three racing cars which conform to the technical regulations, or formula, for the championship. It is the fifth edition of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. Felix Rosenqvist was the defending drivers' champion, but was unable to defend his title, because of a new rule which determined that drivers could spend no more than three years in the category. FIA Formula 3 European Championship
The FIA Formula 3 European Championship was a European Formula Three(F3) auto racing competition, organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). After one season of the FIA Formula 3 International Trophy, the FIA revived the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. The ten-event season included seven Formula 3 Euro Series rounds, two British Formula Three rounds and DTM-supporting round at Brands Hatch. From 2013, the series started running its own rounds, based upon the defunct Formula 3 Euro Series. In 2019, the series merged with the GP3 Series to form the FIA Formula 3 Championship, and was due to relaunch as the Formula European Masters and run in support of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters. The championship was cancelled ahead of its debut season due to lack of competitors. The championship would have used the current spec cars and were working with Dallara to design a new car for 2020. Weiron Tan (born 3 December 1994) is a Malaysian racing driver. Career Karting Weiron was first introduced to go-karts at the age of 13, and by the age of 15 he was the first Malaysian champion in the PLUS Yamaha SL Cup Championship and the same year saw him emerge as vice champion in the Asian Karting Open Championship. In 2011, Weiron made his racing debut in Europe, competing in the WSK Series under the Works Kosmic Racing Kart Team. Jake Hughes (born 30 May 1994) is a British racing driver and winner of the inaugural BRDC Formula 4 Championship. He has won multiple races at Formula 3 level, and is set to compete in the 2022–23 Formula E season with Neom McLaren. Career T Cars After successful spells in both karting and mini stocks, Buller made his circuit racing debut in the 2007 T Cars championship; the series designed for aspiring racing drivers between fourteen and seventeen years of age. Lando Norris (born 13 November 1999) is a Belgian-British racing driver currently competing in Formula One with McLaren, racing under the British flag. He won the MSA Formula championship in 2015, and the Toyota Racing Series, Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup in 2016.
