2016 Eastern Michigan Eagles Football Team
The 2016 Eastern Michigan Eagles football team represented Eastern Michigan University in the 2016 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by third-year head coach Chris Creighton. The Eagles played their home games at Rynearson Stadium and are members of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference. Coming off of a 1-11 season in 2015, the Eagles performed a remarkable turnaround and finished 7–6, 4–4 in MAC play to finish in fourth place in the West Division. They were invited to the 2016 Bahamas Bowl, just their second bowl game in school history. They also improved their home attendance by over 260% compared to 2015. Chris Creighton
Christopher William Creighton (born February 7, 1969) is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the head coach at Eastern Michigan University, a position he has held since the 2014 season. Creighton has served as the head coach at three other schools: Ottawa University (1997–2000), Wabash College (2001–2007), and Drake University (2008–2013). Creighton played quarterback at Kenyon College where he established several North Coast Athletic Conference records (since broken). As the head coach at Wabash in the early 2000s, he turned the school into a national contender at the NCAA Division III level. At Drake, he shared back-to-back Pioneer Football League conference titles. Creighton holds the unusual distinction of having won football games on three different continents. McColl–Richardson Field at Jerry Richardson Stadium is a college football stadium in University City, Charlotte, North Carolina, United States and the home field of the Charlotte 49ers football team representing the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte). Michigan MAC Trophy
The Michigan MAC Trophy is given to the Mid-American Conference (MAC) university from Michigan – Central Michigan University (CMU), Eastern Michigan University (EMU) and Western Michigan University (WMU) – which has the best head-to-head record in each season of each sport. There are two separate trophies, one for football and the other for men's basketball. It is one of a handful of trophies in college sports contested between ''three'' teams; others are the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy and the irregularly awarded Florida Cup and Beehive Boot. In the event of a tie the Michigan MAC Trophy remains with the previous holder until one of the other rivals claims the title. 2016 Western Michigan Broncos Football Team
The 2016 Western Michigan Broncos football team represented Western Michigan University (WMU) in the 2016 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by fourth-year head coach P. J. Fleck and played their home games at Waldo Stadium as a member of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). The Broncos completed their regular season undefeated and won the MAC West Division title. The Broncos finished conference play defeating the Ohio Bobcats 29–23 in the 2016 MAC Championship Game, winning the school's first MAC championship title since 1988. BCSN is a regional sports network founded in 2003 (and first went on the air on January 7, 2004) to carry sports broadcasting, which had previously been aired on fellow cable-only station WT05. Overview The station airs Toledo Mud Hens games, BGSU ice hockey and other BGSU sports, University of Toledo sports, high school sports including the Northwest Hockey Conference, college basketball, and other sports games. The network also had broadcast rights to carry the Cleveland Indians. Doyt L. Perry Stadium is a stadium on the campus of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, United States. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the Bowling Green Falcons football team. It opened in 1966 and originally held 23,232 people. History On October 1, 1966, the stadium opened with a 13–0 win over Dayton. The stadium was named for Doyt Perry, a highly successful coach and athletic director at the school.
