Chang'an Ford 2016 Chinese FA Super Cup (Chinese language, Chinese: 长安福特2016中国足球协会超级杯) was the 14th Chinese FA Super Cup. The match was played at Chongqing Olympic Sports Center on 27 February 2016, contested by 2015 Chinese Super League, Super League winners Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao F.C., Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao and 2015 Chinese FA Cup, FA Cup winners Jiangsu Suning F.C., Jiangsu Suning. Guangzhou Evergrande beat Jiangsu Suning 2–0, thus winning their second Chinese FA Super Cup title after losing in recent three years. The Chinese FA Super Cup (), formerly named Chinese Football Super Cup (), is a pre-season association football, football competition held before the season begins in China PR, China. It is a Chinese football championship contested by the winners of top division of Professional League (former Chinese Jia-A League, now Chinese Super League) and the Chinese FA Cup, FA Cup last season. If both teams are the same, the opponent is the runners-up of league last season. It is the Chinese equivalent to the English FA Community Shield, in which the winners of the Premier League and FA Cup compete for the trophy. It was created in 1995 but was not held between 2004 and 2011. The most successful club is Guangzhou F.C., Guangzhou with four titles. José Paulo Bezerra Maciel Júnior (born 25 July 1988), known as Paulinho, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Sport Club Corinthians Paulista. He is also a former Brazil international, making 56 caps between 2011 and 2018. Club career Early career Paulinho began his playing career with Pão de Açúcar, joining the youth squad in 2004. After failing to break through into the first team, Paulinho joined Lithuanian side FC Vilnius in 2006. Luiz Felipe Scolari (; born 9 November 1948), also known as Felipão ("Big Phil"), is a Brazilian football manager and former player. He is the current manager of Athletico Paranaense. Scolari was a defender during his playing days, and notably represented Caxias before moving to a managerial role in 1982. After leading the Brazil national team to a FIFA World Cup win in 2002, he was manager of the Portugal national team from July 2003 to June 2008. Alan Douglas Borges de Carvalho (born 10 July 1989), simply known as Alan or Ā Lán (), is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Fluminense. Born in Brazil, he represents the China national team. After spells in Brazil with Londrina and Fluminense, Alan joined Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg in 2010. Club career Zheng Long started his football career after he graduated from Qingdao Jonoon's youth academy in 2006. Wang Shangyuan (; ; born 2 June 1993) is a Chinese professional footballer who currently plays for Chinese Super League club Henan Songshan Longmen. Liu Jian (; ; born 20 August 1984) is a Chinese footballer. He also played for China national football team between 2007 and 2013 and scored over 30 caps. He normally plays as a midfielder, but can also deployed as deep lying playmaker. Club career Liu Jian started his football career with Qingdao Jonoon in the 2004 season. Mei Fang (; ; born 14 November 1989) is a former Chinese professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Club career Mei Fang started his football career with Wuhan Optics Valley in 2008 when he was promoted to the first team. In August 2008, he had a brief trial with Ligue 2 side RC Strasbourg along with his teammate Wang Yang. In October 2008, Wuhan withdrew from the league for what it claimed was unfair punishment by the Chinese Football Association. Liu Dianzuo (; ; born 26 June 1990) is a Chinese footballer who currently plays for Wuhan Three Towns in the Chinese Super League. Club career Liu Dianzuo started his football career in 2006 when he was promoted to China League Two side Dalian Yiteng's first team. Jackson Arley Martínez Valencia (; born 3 October 1986) is a Colombian former professional footballer who played as a striker. He started his career with Independiente Medellin in 2004 and becoming the league's top scorer in 2009, before being signed by Chiapas in January 2010. Yu Hanchao (; born 25 February 1987) is a Chinese footballer who currently plays for Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua as a right-footed left winger. Club career Yu Hanchao started his football career with Liaoning Whowin in 2005 after making his debut on 22 May 2005 in a 0-0 draw against Inter Shanghai.
