2016 CS Warsaw Cup
The 2016 CS Warsaw Cup was a senior international figure skating competition, held in November 2016 in Warsaw, Poland. It was part of the 2016–17 ISU Challenger Series. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. ISU Challenger Series
The ISU Challenger Series is a series of international figure skating competitions. Established by the International Skating Union in the 2014–15 season, it is a group of senior-level events ranked below the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Each event consists of at least three disciplines out of four ( men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing), and is required to take place between August 1 and December 15. The ISU Challenger Series Synchronized Skating is a separate competition series in the discipline of synchronized skating. History The ISU Council decided to create the series at its February 2014 meeting. Eleven competitions were selected in June 2014. The Triglav Trophy dropped out by October 10, 2014, resulting in a series composed of ten events. Pair Skating
Pair skating is a figure skating discipline defined by the International Skating Union (ISU) as "the skating of two persons in unison who perform their movements in such harmony with each other as to give the impression of genuine Pair Skating as compared with independent Single Skating".S&P/ID 2021, p. 109 The ISU also states that a pairs team consists of "one Woman and one Man". Pair skating, along with men's and women's single skating, has been an Olympic discipline since figure skating, the oldest Winter Olympic sport, was introduced at the 1908 Summer Olympics in London. The ISU World Figure Skating Championships introduced pair skating in 1908. Like the other disciplines, pair skating competitions consist of two segments, the short program and the free skating program. Petr Kotlařík (born 1 November 1998) is a Czech figure skater. He is the 2023 Czech national Champion. He has competed in the final segment at two ISU Championships. Personal life Petr Kotlařík was born on 1 November 1998 in Jihlava and grew up in Brno, Czech Republic. Career Early years Kotlařík began learning to skate in 2003. He has trained in both singles and pairs. He teamed up with Natálie Kratěnová around 2011 and skated with her for several years. 2013 to 2015 Kotlařík debuted on the Junior Grand Prix (JGP) series in October 2013, coached by Eva Horklová and Lucie Kratěnová in Brno and Prague. Lana Petranović (born 4 January 2000) is a Croatian pair skater. With her skating partner, Antonio Souza-Kordeiru, she has competed in the final segment at four European Championships. Skating career Early years Petranović began learning to skate in 2007. As a singles skater, she appeared at one ISU Junior Grand Prix event, in October 2014. She last competed in singles in January 2015, at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Dornbirn, Austria. Petranović decided to switch to pair skating and formed a partnership with Michael Lueck. The pair trained in the United States. Mikalai Kamianchuk ( be, Мікалай Камянчук; born 9 August 1987) is a Belarusian pair skater. He has placed in the top ten at four European Championships, skating with Lubov Bakirova and Tatiana Danilova. Career Early career Kamianchuk began learning to skate in 1992. Tatiana Sergeyevna Danilova (russian: Татьяна Сергеевна Данилова; born 25 November 1993) is a Russian pair skater. Competing for Russia with Andrei Novoselov, she is the 2010 Golden Spin of Zagreb silver medalist. Competing for Belarus with Mikalai Kamianchuk, she is the 2015 Toruń Cup silver medalist and has finished in the top ten at two European Championships (2016, 2017).
