Brisbane Lions
The Brisbane Lions is a professional Australian rules football club based in Brisbane, Queensland, that plays in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club was formed in late 1996 via a merger of the Melbourne-based 1883 foundation VFL club the Fitzroy Lions, and the 1987 Queensland based expansion club the Brisbane Bears, with the colours of maroon, blue, and gold being drawn from both parent clubs. The Lions are one of the most successful AFL club of the 2000s, appearing in four consecutive Grand Finals from 2001 to 2004 and winning three premierships ( 2001, 2002, 2003). They play home matches at the Gabba, which was also the site of their offices and training facilities until moving these to Springfield Central Stadium in Ipswich in 2022. Josh Green (footballer)
Joshua Green (born 24 August 1992) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions and Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early career Born in Tasmania, Green developed his skills while playing under age football for Sorell. He would later join Clarence. He became a dual premiership player with the club, playing in the 2009 and 2010 premiership teams. In 2010 he won the Davidson Medal as the state's best Under-18 player at the AFL Tasmania State Academy. He captained Tasmania in the national under-18 championships and was named in the 2010 All-Australian Under 18 team. AFL career drafted him with pick 32 in the 2010 AFL draft. Josh Clayton (born 17 January 1996) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is the son of former player and list manager, Scott Clayton, and was drafted under the father-son rule. Clayton showed promise as a versatile player from a young age and played with the Sandringham Dragons in the TAC Cup and for Vic Metro in the 2014 AFL Under 18 Championships. Nick Robertson (born 3 June 1995) is an Australian rules football player. Between 2014 and 2019, he played for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). Clayton Beams (born 1 September 1991), is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early life Claye was born on (the younger brother of former Brisbane Lions captain and former Collingwood premiership player Dayne Beams) and moved with his family from Yarrawonga, Victoria to the Gold Coast at the age of two. Dayne Zorko (born 9 February 1989) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). Trent West (born 17 October 1987) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Geelong Football Club and Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). Career West was recruited by the Geelong Football Club with their second selection and thirty-first overall in the 2005 national draft. Stefan Martin (born 17 November 1986) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Western Bulldogs, Brisbane Lions, and Melbourne in the Australian Football League (AFL).
