The 2016 Big 12 Conference women's basketball tournament was the postseason women's basketball tournament for the Big 12 Conference, held March 4–7 in Oklahoma City at Chesapeake Energy Arena. Baylor won their 8th Big 12 tournament title to earn an automatic trip to the NCAA women's tournament. Chesapeake Energy Arena
Paycom Center (originally known as the Ford Center from 2002 to 2010, Oklahoma City Arena from 2010 to 2011, and Chesapeake Energy Arena from 2011 to 2021) is an arena located in Downtown Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States. It opened in 2002 and since 2008 has served as the home venue for the National Basketball Association (NBA)'s Oklahoma City Thunder. Previously, the arena was home to the Oklahoma City Blazers of the Central Hockey League (CHL) from 2002 until the team folded in July 2009, and the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz of AF2 from 2004 to 2009 when the team moved to the Prairie Surf Studios. Big 12 Conference Women's Basketball Tournament
The Big 12 Conference women's basketball tournament is the championship women's basketball tournament in the Big 12 Conference. It is a single-elimination tournament of four rounds, with the top four seeds getting byes in the first round until 2011. Beginning in 2012 the bottom four teams play First Round games to advance to the Quarterfinals against the top six teams. Seeding is based on regular season records. The Tournament has been held every year since 1997, except in 2020 when it was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The 2016 Phillips 66 Big 12 men's basketball tournament was a postseason men's basketball tournament for the Big 12 Conference. It was played from March 9 to 12, in Kansas City, Missouri at the Sprint Center. Kansas won the tournament for the 10th time and received the conference's automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA tournament. Seeding The Tournament consisted of a 10 team single-elimination tournament with the top 6 seeds receiving a bye. Brooke Michelle McCarty-Williams (born October 2, 1995) is an American professional basketball player who played for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She currently plays for Luleå Basket in the Swedish Basketball League. College career McCarty-Williams starred for Texas as soon as she arrived on campus, making the Big 12 All-Freshman team in her first year, 2015. She continued on to make the All Big 12 First Team in each of the next three seasons. In 2018, her senior year, she was also a USA Today Third Team All-American, and a AP All American Honorable Mention. She was also named to the Big 12 Tournament team in her senior season.
