2016 A-League Grand Final
The 2016 A-League Grand Final was the eleventh A-League Grand Final, and was played on 1 May 2016, at Adelaide Oval to determine the 2015–16 A-League Champion. The match was contested by the two winning finals series semi-finalists, Adelaide United FC, Adelaide United and Western Sydney Wanderers FC, Western Sydney Wanderers who finished the 2015–16 A-League season in first and second position respectively. The match was won by Adelaide United, who defeated Western Sydney Wanderers 3–1 in front of a crowd of 50,119. The Grand Final was both teams' third, with both never having won. Adelaide losing the 2007 A-League Grand Final, 2007 and 2009 A-League Grand Final, 2009 grand finals against Melbourne Victory FC, Melbourne Victory 6–0 and 1–0 respectively. 2015–16 A-League
The 2015–16 A-League was the 39th season of top-flight soccer in Australia, and the 11th since the establishment of the A-League in 2004. Melbourne Victory FC, Melbourne Victory were both the defending A-League Premiers and Champions. The regular season schedule was released on 29 June 2015. The season commenced on 8 October 2015 and concluded on 10 April 2016. The finals series commenced on 15 April 2016 and concluded with the 2016 Grand Final, held on 1 May 2016. Melbourne City FC
Melbourne City Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in the south–eastern Melbourne suburb of Cranbourne East, that plays in the A-League, the top level of Australian soccer, under licence from Australian Professional Leagues (APL). Dimitrios Petratos (born 10 November 1992) is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Indian Super League club ATK Mohun Bagan. Petratos has played for four different A-League clubs, winning one championship with Brisbane Roar. The majority of Petratos's career has been in the A-League. However, he has played in Malaysia, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, before moving to India. Parramatta Stadium
Parramatta Stadium was a sports stadium in Parramatta, New South Wales, Australia, 23 kilometres west of Sydney's central business district. The stadium was the home ground of several western Sydney-based sports teams, at the time of closure the most notable were the Parramatta Eels of the National Rugby League and the Western Sydney Wanderers of the A-League. Dylan John McGowan (born 6 August 1991) is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Hamilton Academical, on loan from Kilmarnock. Hindmarsh Stadium (currently known as Coopers Stadium due to sponsorship from Adelaide-based company Coopers Brewery) is a multi-purpose stadium in Hindmarsh, an inner western suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. The Melbourne Rectangular Stadium, known as AAMI Park for sponsorship reasons, is an outdoor sports stadium on the site of Edwin Flack Field in the Sports and Entertainment Precinct in the Melbourne central business district. Thomas Broich (born 29 January 1981) is a German former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder.
