2015–16 Figure Skating Season
The 2015–16 figure skating season began on July 1, 2015, and ended on June 30, 2016. Elite skaters began the season competing on the Grand Prix series or Junior Grand Prix series, culminating in the Grand Prix Final, and the ISU Challenger Series. Following national championships, competitors appeared at ISU Championships, such as the 2016 European, Four Continents Europeans in the 16th century divided the world into four continents: Africa, America, Asia, and Europe. 2014–15 Figure Skating Season
The 2014–15 figure skating season began on July 1, 2014, and ended on June 30, 2015. During this season, elite skaters competed at the ISU Championship level in the 2015 European, Four Continents, World Junior, and World Championships. Other elite events included the Grand Prix series and Junior Grand Prix series, culminating in the Grand Prix Final, and the inaugural ISU Challenger Series. Season notes Beginning in the 2014–15 season, the minimum age for senior Grand Prix and senior B events increased from 14 to 15 to match the minimum age for ISU Championship events. Another rule change allows single and pair skaters to use music with lyrics in competition. Previously, they were restricted to instrumental music, including vocals without words. Lola Esbrat
Lola Esbrat (born 29 August 1997) is a French pair skater. With her skating partner Andrei Novoselov, she has won three international medals and is the 2018 French national champion. Personal life Esbrat was born on 29 August 1997 in Paris. She studied law via correspondence courses but had stopped her studies by January 2017. Career Esbrat began learning to skate in 2004. She competed in ladies' singles through the 2013–14 season. She started training as a pair skater, in partnership with Nicolas Hejzlar, by July 2014. Nathan Bartholomay
Nathan Bartholomay (born May 18, 1989) is an American pair skater. With his former partner Deanna Stellato-Dudek, he is the 2018 Ondrej Nepela Trophy silver medalist, the 2018 Nebelhorn Trophy bronze medalist, and a two-time U.S. national bronze medalist (2018 and 2019). With former partner Felicia Zhang, he is a two-time U.S. national medalist (silver in 2014, bronze in 2013) and competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics. He is currently paired with Katie McBeath. Gretchen Donlan
Gretchen Donlan (born November 18, 1993) is an American former pair skater. With partner Andrew Speroff, she is the 2013 Ondrej Nepela Trophy champion, 2013 Ice Challenge champion, and 2012 U.S. national pewter medalist. In July 2014, Donlan teamed up with Nathan Bartholomay. Career Early years Donlan was coached by Mark Mitchell and Peter Johansson from the fourth grade. Until 2009, she competed in singles and won the U.S. national title on the intermediate level in 2007. Partnership with Speroff Donlan and Andrew Speroff were paired together in spring 2009 by coach Bobby Martin. She had two stress fractures in her back for two seasons. Tim Koleto
is an American-born ice dancer who became a Japanese citizen in 2020. He and his wife, Misato Komatsubara, are the 2020 NHK Trophy gold medalists and four-time Japanese national champions. Together, they also earned a bronze medal from the team event at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Earlier in his career, Koleto competed with partner Yura Min for South Korea, winning the 2014 national title and placing tenth at the 2014 Four Continents. Thea Rabe (born 2 January 1995) is a Norwegian figure skater. Competing in ice dancing with American Timothy Koleto, she won the bronze medal at the 2015 Volvo Open Cup. Sara Hurtado Martín (born 3 November 1992) is a Spanish retired ice dancer. Initially rising to prominence on the international scene partnered with Adrián Díaz, the duo won six senior international medals and five Spanish national titles, and were the first dance team to represent Spain in ISU competition. They qualified for the Olympic Games, finishing thirteenth at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, and achieving their best ISU Championship result when they placed fifth at the 2015 European Championships.
