The 2015–16 Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 2 (Tunisian Professional League) season was the 61st season since Tunisia's independence. Teams The 20 teams will be drawn into two groups of 10 teams each. The first three of each group will qualify to the promotion playoff, while the last of each group will be relegated to Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 3, Ligue 3. The two teams that finish the regular season in the 9th position will play a relegation playoff, a single match to determine who is maintained in Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 2, Ligue 2 and who is relegated to Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 3, Ligue 3. Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 2
The Ligue Professionelle 2 is the second football level in Tunisia, under Ligue Professionelle 1 which is the top level of Tunisian football. Contested by 24 clubs, divided in two groups, playing each other twice during the season, the top two teams are promoted at the end of the season, whilst the bottom two teams are relegated to the Ligue Professionnelle 3. Korba, Tunisia
Korba ( aeb, قربة '), ancient Curubis, is a town in Tunisia on the eastern shore of the Cap Bon. It was the place of exile of the Carthaginian bishop Cyprian in the year leading up to his martyrdom. Modern Korba is in the Nabeul Governorate and had a population of 48,314 in 2014. History Ancient geographers and itineraries mention the town Curubis on the African coast between Clupea (modern Kelibia) and Neapolis (modern Nabeul). The earliest historical record is an inscription from the time of the Roman civil war, which records that the Pompeian generals P. Attius Varus and Gaius Considius Longus fortified the town in 48—47 BC. 2016–17 Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1
The 2016–17 Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 (''Tunisian Professional League'') season was the 91st season of top-tier football in Tunisia. The competition started on 8 September 2016. The defending champions from the previous season are Étoile du Sahel. Teams A total of 16 teams will contest the league, including 13 sides from the 2015–16 season and three promoted from the 2015–16 Ligue 2. AS Gabès was the first to obtain promotion, followed by Olympique Béja and finally US Tataouine. The three teams replaced EGS Gafsa, AS Kasserine and Stade Tunisien who were relegated to 2016–17 Tunisian Ligue 2. The teams are drawn in two groups of 8 each.
