2015–16 Swiss Challenge League
The 2015-16 Swiss Challenge League, known for sponsorship reasons as the Brack.ch Challenge League, was the 13th season of the Swiss Challenge League, the second tier in the Swiss football pyramid. It began on 18 July 2015 and ended on 27 May 2016. After the 18th matchday the league will be on winter break between 7 December 2015 and 6 February 2016. Participating teams 2014–15 Swiss Challenge League champions FC Lugano were promoted to the 2015–16 Swiss Super League. They were replaced by FC Aarau, who were relegated after last place finish in the 2014–15 Swiss Super League. Last placed team of the 2014–15 Challenge League season FC Biel-Bienne were spared from relegation as Servette FC failed to obtain a license for the 2015-16 season and were relegated to the 1. Swiss Challenge League
The Challenge League is the second-highest tier of the Swiss football league system and lower of two professional leagues in the country. FC Winterthur
FC Winterthur is a Swiss football club based in Winterthur, Canton of Zürich. They play in the Swiss Super League, the first tier of Swiss football, and appeared regularly in the Nationalliga A during the 20th century. Their home is the Stadion Schützenwiese. History The club was founded in 1896 by students of the local school of engineering and following a fusion with two local teams, it was called ''Vereinigte Fussballclubs Winterthur'' between 1929 and 1946. Marco Schällibaum
Marco Schällibaum (born 6 April 1962) is a Swiss football manager and former player. He is the manager of Swiss Challenge League side Yverdon-Sport FC. Playing career As a player Schällibaum played 15 years in the Swiss first division from 1980 to 1995, playing in over 450 games for various top Swiss clubs and won three league titles. He also appeared in 50 Swiss Cup games, winning the Cup in 1983 with Grasshopper. He also played for the Swiss national football team from 1983 to 1988, making 31 appearances.
