2015–16 Slovenian Basketball League
The 2015–16 Slovenian Basketball League was the 25th season of the Premier A Slovenian Basketball League. On March 24, 2016, league got new sponsorship name, Liga Nova KBM. The defending champions were Tajfun. From 2. SKL were promoted Škofja Loka and additionally Lastovka, because Grosuplje withdrew from the league. Maribor also withdrew from the league due to bankruptcy. Format League consisted of 12 teams, but only nine started the first half of the season, because Olimpija, Krka, and Tajfun played in the regional ABA League and joined the competition in the second half. In the first half of the season, nine teams played each other twice, home and away. The 2014–15 Slovenian Basketball League, also known as the 2014–15 Telemach League due to sponsorship reasons, was the 24th season of the Premier A Slovenian Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in Slovenia. Tajfun won its first title, by defeating Rogaška 3–1 in the finals. Regular season Second round Group A Group B Results between teams in the regular season remained in effect for the second round for Group B. Playoffs The Playoffs began on Thursday, May 5, 2015, and concluded at May 28, 2015. Relegation Playoffs The two bottom teams of the season played against the two best teams from the Slovenian Second Division. All teams played each other at home and away. Košarkarski klub Lastovka ( en, Lastovka Basketball Club), commonly referred to as KK Lastovka or simply Lastovka, is a Slovenian basketball club based in Domžale. The club was founded in 1997. In the summer of 2016 the senior team merged with KOŠ Koper to form KK Primorska. The club currently competes only with youth selections. Novo Mesto
Novo Mesto (; sl, Novo mesto; also known by other alternative names) is a city on a bend of the Krka River in the City Municipality of Novo Mesto in southeastern Slovenia, close to the border with Croatia. The town is traditionally considered the economic and cultural centre of the historical Lower Carniola region. Name Novo Mesto was attested in historical sources in 1365 as ''Růdolfswerde'' (and as ''Rudolfswerd'' in 1392 and ''Noua Mesta'' in 1419). Polzela
Polzela () is a settlement in Slovenia. It is the seat of the Municipality of Polzela. It lies on the left bank of the Savinja River extending into the Ložnica Hills ( sl, Ložniško gričevje) to the north. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. It is now included in the Savinja Statistical Region. Buildings On a hill in the centre of the settlement is Komenda Castle, a 13th-century castle used in later centuries by the Knights Hospitaller and greatly rebuilt in the 19th century. A marble lion found at the castle and the Hospitallers' Maltese cross appear in the municipal coat of arms. Šoštanj
Šoštanj (; german: Schönstein) is a town in northern Slovenia. It is the seat of the Municipality of Šoštanj. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. The entire municipality is now included in the Savinja Statistical Region. History Šoštanj was first mentioned in written documents dating to around 1200 as ''Schönstein'' in relation to its castle. As a market town it was first mentioned in 1348. It was given town status in 1919 and until the 1960s was the center of the Šalek Valley ( sl, Šaleška dolina). In 1963 nearby Velenje became the administrative center. Šoštanj again became a municipal center in the late 1990s. The town has a long leather-working history, with industrial-scale activity going back to 1788.
