The 2015–16 SV Werder Bremen season is the 106th season in the club's football history. In 2015–16 the club plays in the Bundesliga, the top tier of German football league system. It is the clubs 33rd consecutive season in this league, having been promoted from the 2. Bundesliga in 1981. The club also is taking part in the 2015–16 edition of the DFB-Pokal. Aron Jóhannsson
Aron Jóhannsson (born November 10, 1990) is a professional soccer player who plays as a striker for Úrvalsdeild club Valur. He began his career with Fjölnir and later played in the Danish Superliga for AGF before joining AZ in January 2013. After two-and-a-half seasons at the Eredivisie club, he was signed by Werder Bremen. His four years in Bundesliga was plagued by injuries, and he left in 2019 to revive his career with Hammarby IF in Allsvenskan. Clemens Fritz
Clemens Fritz (born 7 December 1980) is a German former professional footballer who played as a right-back and as a defensive midfielder. He is mostly known for his 11-year spell at Werder Bremen. Having begun his career at Rot-Weiß Erfurt and Karlsruher SC, he joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2003, playing sparingly across his three seasons at the Bundesliga club. In 2006, he moved to Werder Bremen, winning the DFB-Pokal and helping them to the UEFA Cup final in 2009. Across all competitions, he has played over 300 matches for Bremen. Fin Bartels (born 7 February 1987) is a German former professional footballer who played either as midfielder or as a striker. Club career Early career Bartels began his career at TSV Russee and later played for SpVgg Eidertal Molfsee before joining Holstein Kiel in 2002. In 2005 Bartels moved up to Holstein Kiel II. Philipp Bargfrede (born 3 March 1989) is a German professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Werder Bremen II. Career TuS Heeslingen Bargfrede joined the Heeslingen youth system at the age of 6, in 1995. He stayed with them until 2004.
