The 2015–16 Radford Highlanders men's basketball team represented Radford University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Highlanders, led by fifth year head coach Mike Jones, played their home games at the Dedmon Center and were members of the Big South Conference. They finished the season 16–15, 9–9 in Big South play to finish in seventh place. They lost to Presbyterian in the first round of the Big South tournament. Mike Jones (basketball, Born 1965)
Michael Ray Jones (born April 30, 1965) is a current college basketball head coach. Jones’ father, Jimmy, was a star guard in the ABA from 1967-74. In 1974, Jimmy Jones signed with the Washington Bullets in the NBA, where he remained until 1977. Mike Jones spent 10 years as head men's basketball coach at Radford. During his time there, he was named Big South Conference Coach of the Year in 2018 and 2020. While at Radford, Jones coached Javonte Green, Radford's first NBA Player. Green, who went undrafted in 2015, made his NBA debut with the Boston Celtics in 2019 and currently plays for the Chicago Bulls. Siegel Center
The Stuart C. Siegel Center is a multi-purpose facility on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, United States. The facility's main component is the 7,637-(expandable to 8,000) seat E.J. Wade Arena. It also served as a student recreational area until 2010, when the new Cary Street Gym complex was completed. It now is used purely for VCU athletics and includes a weight room, auxiliary basketball court, and a cafè. The E.J. 2015–16 VCU Rams Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 VCU Rams men's basketball team represented Virginia Commonwealth University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. It was the 48th season of the University fielding a men's basketball program. The program was led by Will Wade, who was leading the program for his first season after previously coaching Chattanooga. Wade replaced former head coach, Shaka Smart, who resigned from VCU for the vacancy at Texas. Led by a core of rising juniors and seniors, including Mo Alie-Cox and Melvin Johnson, the Rams finished the season 25–11, 14–4 in A-10 play to finish tied for the A-10 conference championship. They defeated Massachusetts and Davidson to advance to the championship game of the A-10 tournament where they lost to Saint Joseph's. The Empire Classic, formerly known as the 2K Sports Classic, is an annual college basketball event played in November at the beginning of the season and televised by ESPN. Originally known as the Atlantic City Shootout and produced by the Gazelle Group, Inc., the event was first played in 1995. The following year, it became the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic as a collaboration between the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the American Cancer Society in an effort to raise funds for cancer research. In 2012, the tournament beneficiary became Wounded Warrior Project, resulting in the tournament being renamed the 2K Sports Classic. The 2015–16 Georgetown Hoyas men's basketball team represented Georgetown University in the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Hoyas, led by twelfth-year head coach John Thompson III, played their home games at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., and were members of the Big East Conference.
