The 2015–16 season of the Niedersachsenliga, the highest association football league in the German state of Lower Saxony, was the eighth season of the league at tier five (V) of the German football league system. Lupo Martini Wolfsburg is a German association football club from the city of Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony. The club's greatest success has been promotion to the tier four Regionalliga Nord in 2015–16. The original club, ''Sportclub Lupo'', was formed in 1962 by Italian migrant workers (German: ''Gastarbeiter'') at the Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg, and merged in 1981 with another Italian migrant worker club, ''US Martini'', to form the current club. German Reserve Football Teams
German reserve football teams compete at all levels of league football within the German football league system apart from the top two divisions, the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga. The highest league these teams can currently enter is the 3. Liga, set at the third tier of the league system. Until 2005, reserve teams of professional sides carried the title Amateure behind the club name to distinguish between the professional and reserve team of a club while all other reserve teams carried the Roman numeral II behind the club name as a distinction. Since 2005 all reserve teams carry the Roman numeral, regardless of the status of the first team. Any additional reserve teams carry the following Roman numeral behind the club's name. The Kreisliga ( en, District League), along with the ''Kreisoberliga'' ( en, District Premier League) and the ''Kreisklasse'' ( en, District Class), are the lowest set of divisions in the German football league system, set at step 8 and below. Structure Whereas the top amateur divisions are organised by the 21 state football associations of the German Football Association, the bottom divisions fall under the jurisdiction of their subsidiary bodies, being more than 400 district football associations that organise their divisions mostly following the borders of the corresponding Districts of Germany, policial districts. The 2016–17 Regionalliga was the ninth season of the Regionalliga, the fifth under the new format, as the fourth tier of the German football league system. SV Arminia Hannover is a German association football club based in Hanover, Lower Saxony. VfL Oldenburg is a German sports club from the town of Oldenburg, Lower Saxony which is best known for its football team, which plays in the Niedersachsenliga, the fifth level of the German football league system.
