2015–16 NBB Season
The 2015–16 NBB season was the 8th season of the Novo Basquete Brasil, the Brazilian basketball league. Once again this tournament was organized entirely by the Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB). The NBB also qualified teams for international tournaments such as Liga Sudamericana and FIBA Americas League. This season fifteen teams were played each other in the regular season. At the end of the home and away matches round the top four teams qualified for the quarterfinals of the playoffs automatically, while the teams finishing in the 5th and 12th place participated in the first round of the playoffs to determine the other four teams in the quarterfinals, in a five-match series. This year NBB returned to a series in the Finals, played in a best of three-match. For this season, only the last regular season placed was relegated to the Liga Ouro, the NBB second division. Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) (English: New Basketball Brazil) is the Brazilian premier professional men's basketball league. It is organized by the Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB) (National Basketball League), in a new format of Brazil's previous top-tier level basketball competition, the Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete (Brazilian Basketball Championship). The NBB is managed by the Brazilian basketball associations, which were founding members of the LNB. Format The NBB is the annual basketball league that is promoted by the national Brazilian league (LNB) organizing body, and is endorsed by the Brazilian Basketball Confederation (CFB). The first phase of the season consists of fifteen teams playing against each other, on a home and away basis. Associação de Basquete Cearense or simply Basquete Cearense is a Brazilian professional basketball team that is based in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil. The club plays in the Brazilian top-tier level Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). The team was founded in 2012, and since then has played in all editions of the NBB, reaching the playoffs three times. Ginásio Nilson Nelson
The Nilson Nelson Gymnasium (Ginásio Nilson Nelson) is an indoor sporting arena used mostly for volleyball located in Brasília, Brazil, which is near the Estádio Nacional Mané Garrincha. Both are part of the Ayrton Senna Sports Complex. The capacity of the arena is 11,105 spectators and it was built in 1973. The hall was designed by Cláudio Cianciarullo and opened on April 21, 1973. From 1973 to 2008, the arena had a capacity of 24,286 seats. In 2008, the multi-purpose arena was renovated and reduced the spectator capacity to 11,105 seats. UniCEUB/BRB
The Instituto Viver Basquetebol, commonly known simply as Lobos Brasília, was a Brazilian professional basketball club, based in Brasília, Federal District. The team was founded in 2000, and renamed in 2009, been originally related to Salgado de Oliveira University (UNIVERSO). Between 2010 and 2017 was associated with Centro Universitário de Brasília (UniCEUB) and named ''UniCEUB/BRB/Brasília''. Their gyms are Nilson Nelson and ASCEB (minor games).
