2015–16 Loyola Marymount Lions Women's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Loyola Marymount Lions women's basketball team will represent Loyola Marymount University in the 2015–16 college basketball season. The Lions are members of the West Coast Conference, are led by head coach Charity Elliott, in her fourth season at the school. The Lions play their home games at the Gersten Pavilion on the university campus in Los Angeles, California. They finished the season 11–20, 6–12 in WCC play to finish in a tie for seventh place. They advanced to the quarterfinals of the WCC women's tournament where they lost to Saint Mary's. Charity Elliott
Charity Dawn Elliott (née Shira; born November 11, 1969) is an American basketball coach currently serving as the head women's basketball coach at Point Loma Nazarene University. She was the women's basketball team head coach at Loyola Marymount University from 2012 to 2021. She has previously been the women's head basketball coach at Portland State, UC San Diego, and California Baptist. Playing career After attending Fair Grove High School in Fair Grove, Missouri, Elliott began playing college basketball as a guard at Rice University. As a freshman (1987–88), Elliott averaged 7.1 points and 4.3 rebounds. The following season, she averaged 16.8 points and 5.7 rebounds. In 1989, Elliott transferred to Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State). Miramonte High School
Miramonte High School is a public high school located in Orinda, California, United States. It is part of the Acalanes Union High School District. The school has a college-preparatory program, with 15 Advanced Placement courses offered. History Miramonte was founded in 1955. Miramonte football recorded their first NCS CIF championship in 1981, defeating San Lorenzo 23–7 in the Oakland Coliseum. Bishop Alemany High School is a Roman Catholic secondary school located in the San Fernando Valley community of Mission Hills in Los Angeles, California. Bonita High School
Bonita High School is a high school located in the city of La Verne, California in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. Opened in 1903, it was the first high school in the Bonita Unified School District. It moved to its current campus in 1959. The majority of its students come from Ramona Middle School, which is also located in La Verne. The Bearcat athletic teams compete in the Palomares League of the CIF Southern Section. La Verne, California
La Verne is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 31,063 at the 2010 census, down from 31,638 at the 2000 census. History The European history of the area dates back to the 1830s when Ygnacio Palomares and Ricardo Véjar received the Rancho San Jose land grant from Governor Juan Bautista Alvarado in 1837. Acalanes High School
Acalanes High School is a public secondary school located in Lafayette, California, United States, in the San Francisco Bay Area, within Contra Costa County. Acalanes was the first of four high schools established in the Acalanes Union High School District. It was built in 1940 on what was then a tomato field, using federal government funds with labor provided by the Works Project Administration, the largest and most ambitious New Deal agency introduced by the Roosevelt administration.
