2015–16 Iowa State Cyclones Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Iowa State Cyclones men's basketball team represents Iowa State University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cyclones were coached by Steve Prohm, who was in his 1st season. They played their home games at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa and competed in the Big 12 Conference. They finished the season 23–12 10–8 in Big 12 play to finish tied for 5th place. They lost to Oklahoma in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Conference tournament. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament where they defeated Iona and Little Rock to advance to the Sweet Sixteen where they lost to Virginia. Previous season Iowa State finished the season 25–9, 12–6 in Big 12 play to finish in second place. Steve Prohm
Steven Marshall Prohm (born July 12, 1974) is an American basketball coach who is in his second tenure as the head coach for Murray State men's basketball. Previously, he was the head coach at Iowa State University, a position he had held from 2015 to 2021. Prohm served in the same capacity at Murray State University from 2011 to 2015. Early life A native of Vienna, Virginia, Prohm's family later moved to Dalton, Georgia, where Prohm attended high school at Northwest Whitfield High School in Tunnel Hill, Georgia and lettered in basketball for three years, graduating in 1992. He started college at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta where he played NCAA Division III basketball. Prohm made it less than halfway through his first season as a player when he left the team to follow his passion for coaching. 2014–15 Kansas Jayhawks Men's Basketball Team
The 2014–15 Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team represented the University of Kansas in the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, which was the Jayhawks' 117th basketball season. The Jayhawks played their home games at Allen Fieldhouse. They were led by 12th year head coach Bill Self and were members of the Big 12 Conference. Despite losing 8 players, 5 who received substantial playing time, from the previous season, the Jayhawks still entered the season ranked 5th in the AP and Coaches poll, due in large part to a recruiting class ranked in the top 10 by Scout (4th), Rivals (3rd), and ESPN (9th). Georgios Tsalmpouris
Georgios Tsalmpouris (alternate spelling: Giorgos Tsalbouris) (Greek: Γιώργος Τσαλμπούρης; born 22 June 1996) is a Greek professional basketball player for Bilbao of the Spanish Liga ACB. Tsalmpouris is 7'2" (2.18 m) tall, weighs 240 pounds (109 kg), and plays at the power forward and center positions. Early career Tsalmpouris played club basketball with Archelaos Pierikos in the Greek B Basket League, the 3rd level of Greek the basketball system, at the semi-professional level, in the 2013–14 season. College career In the 2014–15 season, Tsalmpouris played college basketball in the Division I, for the Iowa State Cyclones team. He was the seventh 7-footer in the school's history.
