2015–16 Hong Kong Sapling Cup
2015–16 Hong Kong Sapling Cup (officially the 2015–16 Henderson Sapling Cup for sponsorship reasons) is the 1st edition of the Sapling Cup. The Cup is contested by the 9 football teams in the 2015–16 Hong Kong Premier League. The objective of the Cup is to create more potential playing opportunities for youth players. In this Cup competition, each team must play a minimum of two players born on or after 1 January 1994 (U22) and six foreign players at most during every whole match, or send at most four foreign players during every whole match. Pegasus won the title on 18 May 2016. Hong Kong Pegasus FC
Hong Kong Pegasus FC () are a Hong Kong football club based in Yuen Long. Founded in 2008, the club currently competes in the Hong Kong Third Division. History TSW Pegasus was established in June 2008, and they had their first season in 2008–09 Hong Kong First Division League with a budget of about HKD$10,000,000. On 21 December 2008, Pegasus won their first trophy, defeating Sun Hei in the 2008 Senior Shield Final. In July 2012, the club was renamed as Sun Pegasus following introduction of a new sponsor. After the 2014–15 season, Sun International Resources Limited withdrew their sponsorship. Their club was renamed Hong Kong Pegasus following a takeover by Canny Leung. In October 2020, the club was renamed back to TSW Pegasus and returned to Yuen Long Stadium. Giovane Alves da Silva (born 25 November 1982 in Taió, Santa Catarina, Brazil), commonly known as Giovane or 基奧雲尼 in Hong Kong and 思华 in mainland China, is a former Brazilian-born Hong Kong professional footballer who played as a striker. Club career Giovane joined Sun Hei in 2007. He came to prominence the season after and bested fellow Brazilian Detinho to become the top scorer of that season with 26 goals. He became considered one of the best foreign players of the league after this achievement. Kowloon Bay is a body of water within Victoria Harbour and an area within Kowloon, Hong Kong. The bay is located at the east of the Kowloon Peninsula and north of Hong Kong Island. Alexander Oluwatayo Akande (; born 9 February 1989), more commonly known as Alex Akande or Alex Tayo Akande, is a professional footballer who currently plays as a striker for China League One club Shanghai Jiading Huilong.
