Fencing World Cup
The FIE Fencing World Cup is an international fencing competition held by the Fédération Internationale d'Escrime. In each weapon (Men's and Women's Épée, Sabre and Foil), three Grand Prix, five World Cup events and several satellite events are contested each season. The five top results as well as the Olympic Games or World Fencing Championships and zonal championships results are taken into account for each fencer's rankings. For teams, up to five World Cup events are held each year. Sarra Besbes
Sarra Besbes ( ar, سارة بسباس; born 5 February 1989) is a Tunisian épée fencer, seven-time gold medallist at the African Fencing Championships. She represented Tunisia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, placing eighth, and at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, placing fifth. Ronan Gustin (born 17 August 1987) is a French épée fencer, team European and World champion in 2011. Career Gustin took up fencing at the early age of three at ASPTT Dijon. His junior results were unremarkable, but his build and motivation had him noticed by national coach Jérôme Roussat, who invited him to train with the French national team at INSEP, first as a guest in 2008, then as a full member in 2010, after he was silver medallist in the 2009 French national championship. In his first senior season he earned a bronze medal at the 2011 Heidenheim World Cup and a silver medal at the 2015 Vancouver World Cup. These results caused him to be selected for the 2011 European Championships in Sheffield. Irina Embrich, née Zamkovaja (born 12 July 1980) is an Estonian left-handed épée fencer. Embrich is a two-time team European champion and 2017 team world champion. A two-time Olympian, Embrich is a 2021 team Olympic champion. Embrich competed in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Biography Embrich's first sport was gymnastics, but she resented the hard discipline of the Soviet era. She later took to rhythmic gymnastics and then fencing under coach Samuil Kaminski. Mara Navarria (born 18 July 1985) is an Italian right-handed épée fencer, 2018 individual world champion, two-time Olympian, and 2021 team Olympic bronze medalist. Personal life Navarria grew up in Carlino, Udine and took up fencing at AS Sangiorgina (now Gemina Scherma) in San Giorgio di Nogaro under the coaching of Dario Codarin.
