2015–16 Dundee United F.C. Season
The 2015–16 season is Dundee United's 107th season, having been founded as Dundee Hibernian in 1909 and their third season in the Scottish Premiership. United will also compete in the League Cup and the Scottish Cup. Summary Management They began the season under the management of Jackie McNamara, who was on a long term contract until 2017. On 26 September 2015, following the club's defeat to St Johnstone, McNamara was relieved of his duties as manager of the club, however he still remained an employee of Dundee United. The following day McNamara and his backroom staff Simon Donnelly, Darren Jackson and Craig Hinchcliffe officially left the club. Assistant youth coach Dave Bowman became caretaker manager. On 14 October, United appointed former player Mixu Paatelainen as head coach. His first game in charge was versus Heart of Midlothian on 18 October. Dave Bowman (footballer, Born 1964)
David Bowman (born 10 March 1964) is a Scottish football coach and former player. In a 12-year career with Dundee United he played in the 1987 UEFA Cup Final and won the 1993–94 Scottish Cup. At United he was also a three time Scottish Cup runner up. He also played for Heart of Midlothian, Coventry City, Raith Rovers and Forfar Athletic as well as having a spell in Hong Kong with Yee Hope FC. He played six times for the Scotland national football team and was a non-playing squad member at UEFA Euro 1992. Since 2007 he has worked as a community coach at Dundee United. Early life Dave Bowman was born in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England on 10 March 1964. He is the son of Scottish footballer Andy Bowman, formerly of Chelsea and Heart of Midlothian (Hearts), who was playing for Tonbridge at the time of his son's birth. The GelreDome () is a football stadium in the city of Arnhem, Netherlands. It is one of the largest and most modern stadiums in the country, built from 1996 to 1998 at a cost equivalent to €75 million, that opened on 25 March 1998. The stadium has been the home of association football club Vitesse Arnhem since 1998. It was one of the stadiums used during Euro 2000 tournament held in the Netherlands and Belgium. Gayfield Park, commonly known as Gayfield, is a football stadium in Arbroath, Angus, Scotland. It is the home ground of Scottish Professional Football League team Arbroath F.C.
