2015–16 Davidson Wildcats Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Davidson Wildcats men's basketball team representsed Davidson College during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Wildcats, led by 27th year head coach Bob McKillop, played their home games at the John M. Belk Arena and were second year members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. Davidson finished the season with a record of 20–13, 10–8 record 2015–16 Atlantic 10 Conference men's basketball season, in A-10 play, finishing in sixth place. They lost to eventual tournament champion, 2015–16 Saint Joseph's Hawks men's basketball team, Saint Joseph's, in the semifinals of the 2016 Atlantic 10 men's basketball tournament, A-10 tournament. They received an invitation to the 2016 National Invitation Tournament, National Invitation Tournament where they lost in the first round to 2015–16 Florida State Seminoles men's basketball team, Florida State. 2016 NIT
The 2016 National Invitation Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 32 NCAA Division I teams that were not selected to participate in the 2016 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, 2016 NCAA tournament. The annual tournament was played on campus sites for the first three rounds, with the Final Four and championship game being held at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The tournament began on Tuesday, March 15 and ended on Thursday, March 31. An experimental rule allowing players six personal fouls instead of five was approved for use in all national postseason tournaments except for the NCAA Tournament.
