2015–16 Championnat National
The 2015–16 Championnat National season was the 18th season since its establishment. The 2014–15 Championnat National, previous season's champions were Red Star F.C., Red Star. Teams Stadia and locations * 1 Bastia failed to reach an agreement with Agglomeration communities in France, the local government on the use of Stade Armand Cesari, the local professional stadium. As a result, they will play in their smaller original stadium, Stade d'Erbajolo, after a minor renovation. During this renovation, the team will play its home games in Stade Claude-Papi in Porto-Vecchio, after playing its first two home games at Stade Charles-Ehrmann in Nice, and Stade Jean-Filippi in Vescovato, Haute-Corse, Vescovato. Championnat National
The Championnat de France National ( en, French National Championship), commonly referred to as simply National or Division 3, serves as the third division of the French football league system behind Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. Contested by 18 clubs, the Championnat National operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Ligue 2 and the Championnat National 2, the fourth division of French football. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing 34 games each, totalling 306 games in the season. Most games are played on Fridays and Saturdays, with a few games played during weekday evenings. Play is regularly suspended the last weekend before Christmas for two weeks before returning in the second week of January. The National was founded in 1993 by the French Football Federation and served as a ''base league'' for clubs on the brink of becoming professional or falling to the amateur levels. AS Béziers (2007)
Avenir Sportif Béziers is a French association football club founded in 2007 by the merger of AS Saint-Chinian, FC Béziers Méditerranée, and the Béziers-Méditerranée Football Cheminots. They are based in the town of Béziers and their home stadium is the Stade de Sauclières. The idea to merge the three football teams in order to have a championship team came in 2006, but a Championnat de France amateur (CFA) team was not created until 2007.
