2015–16 Central Arkansas Sugar Bears Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Central Arkansas Sugar Bears basketball team represented the University of Central Arkansas during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Sugar Bears, led by fourth year head coach Sandra Rushing and played their home games at the Farris Center. They were members of the Southland Conference. They finished the season 28–4, 16–2 in Southland play to finish in second place. They won the Southland women's tournament to earn an automatic trip to the NCAA women's tournament for the first time school history. They lost to Louisville in the first round. Sandra Rushing
Sandra Rushing is an American women's college basketball coach. She has served as head coach at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), Delta State University, and the University of Central Arkansas (UCA). When she left UTEP, she had the best record for women's basketball in the school's history. Rushing was inducted into the El Paso Women's Hall of Fame in 1999. Biography Rushing grew up on a farm in Wool Market, Mississippi. She graduated from the University of Alabama in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in physical education. She played basketball at Alabama and was named a defensive MVP. and She earned her master's degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from Delta State University in 1989. The Kansas City Roos, known before July 1, 2019, as the UMKC Kangaroos and also sometimes called the Kansas City Kangaroos, are the intercollegiate teams representing the University of Missouri–Kansas City that compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I.
