2015–16 Birmingham City F.C. Season
The 2015–16 season was Birmingham City Football Clubs 113th season in the English football league system and fifth consecutive season in the Football League Championship. It covered the period from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016. Their Championship record, of 63 points accrued via 16 wins, 15 draws and 15 losses resulting in a tenth-place finish, was exactly the same as in 2014–15. Tenth was the lowest position the team had occupied all season. The average attendance at league matches, of 17,602, was some 9% higher than in 2014–15. As with all clubs in the top two tiers of English football, Birmingham entered the 2015–16 FA Cup in the third round; they lost in that round at home to Premier League club AFC Bournemouth. Gary Rowett
Gary Rowett (born 6 March 1974) is an English professional football manager and former player, who is currently manager of Championship club Millwall. As a player, he was a defender, and played in the Premier League for Everton, Derby County, Leicester City and Charlton Athletic. He also played in the Football League for Cambridge United, Blackpool, Birmingham City and Burton Albion. His professional career ended in 2004, through a knee injury. In May 2009, he was appointed assistant manager to Paul Peschisolido at Burton, and took over as manager in 2012. Nikola Žigić
Nikola Žigić ( sr-cyr, Никола Жигић, ; born 25 September 1980) is a Serbian former footballer who played as a centre forward. Žigić was born in Bačka Topola, in what was then SFR Yugoslavia. He began playing football as a youngster with AIK Bačka Topola, and scored 68 goals from 76 first-team matches over a three-year period in the third tier of Yugoslav football. Military service took him to Bar in 2001, where he was able to continue his goalscoring career with the local second-level club Mornar. A brief spell back in the third tier with Kolubara preceded his turning professional with First League side Red Star Belgrade in January 2003. Callum Reilly (footballer)
Callum Anthony Reilly (born 3 October 1993) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Banbury United. A midfielder who has also played at full back, Reilly began his career as a youngster with Birmingham City. He made his first-team debut in January 2012, turned professional later that year, and over the next three seasons made 66 appearances in all competitions. He had a short spell on loan at Burton Albion in 2015, and joined the club on a two-year contract in June of that year. Unable to establish himself in their first team, he spent the second half of the 2016–17 season on loan to Coventry City, and then joined Bury. Loan (sports)
In sports, a loan involves a particular player being able to temporarily play for a club other than the one to which they are currently contracted. Loan deals may last from a few weeks to a full season, sometimes persisting for multiple seasons at a time. Lee Robert Clark (born 27 October 1972) is an English football manager and former professional Association football, footballer, who was most recently the manager of Al-Merrikh SC, Al-Merrikh in the Sudan Premier League.
