2015–16 Bengaluru FC Season
The 2015–16 season was the third in the history of Bengaluru Football Club. It began on 1 June 2015 and concluded on 31 May 2016, with competitive matches occurring between January and May. The club ended their I-League campaign as champions for the second time, only winning by two points ahead of second placed Mohun Bagan. In the Federation Cup, Bengaluru were eliminated early in the first round, suffering defeat to Aizawl. In the AFC Cup, Bengaluru managed to make it past the Round of 16, defeating Kitchee. The victory had qualified the club for the quarter-finals which would take place the next season. Prior to the start of the season, Bengaluru were very active making squad changes. Bengaluru FC
Bengaluru Football Club () is an Indian professional football club based in Bangalore, Karnataka. The club competes in the Indian Super League, the top flight of Indian football. The club was established on 20 July 2013, and began its first competitive season in the I-League on 22 September the same year. Since its inception, the club has won two I-League titles including one in its debut season, two Federation Cup titles, one Indian Super League title, and a Super Cup championship making it fourth-most successful club in Indian football. The club is owned and operated by the Mumbai-based company JSW Group and its managing director Sajjan Jindal. Aizawl (; Mizo: ) is the capital of the state of Mizoram in India. Aizawl was officially established on 25 February 1890. With a population of 293,416, it is the largest city in the state. Josh Walker (footballer, Born 1989)
Joshua Walker (born 21 February 1989) is an English footballer who plays as a defender or midfielder for Dunbar United. Walker started his career at Middlesbrough, progressing through the club's youth academy and was part of the club's FA Youth Cup winning team in 2004. He subsequently made his first-team debut for Middlesbrough in 2006, and made a handful of appearances during his four-year professional tenure at the club. During his time at Middlesbrough, Walker was loaned out on four occasions, playing for Football League clubs in the form of AFC Bournemouth, Northampton Town, and Rotherham United respectively, as well as Scottish Premier League club Aberdeen. Michael Anthony Collins (born 30 April 1986) is an English football player and coach. He is currently the Lead u23s coach for Sheffield United. As a player, he has played club football for Huddersfield Town, Scunthorpe United, AFC Wimbledon, Oxford United, York City, Leyton Orient and F.C. Halifax Town; he also had a spell playing in India for I-League side Bengaluru and represented the Republic of Ireland under-18, under-19 and under-21 teams. 2015 Indian Super League Season
The 2015 Hero Indian Super League was the second season of the Indian Super League, a professional football league played in India since 2014. The season features eight teams. The regular season kicked off on 3 October and ended on 6 December, while the finals began on 11 December, which will conclude with the final match on 20 December. The defending champions Atlético de Kolkata were eliminated in the semi-finals by Chennaiyin FC. The final was played between Goa and Chennaiyin on 20 December 2015 at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa. Chennayin were crowned as champions defeating Goa 3–2 in the final. Chennaiyin Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The club competes in the Indian Super League, the top flight of Indian football. The club was founded in August 2014 during the inaugural season of the Indian Super League. Mumbai City Football Club is an Indian professional association football, football club based in Mumbai, Maharashtra that competes in the Indian Super League, the top flight of Football in India, Indian football. Indian Super League
The Indian Super League (ISL) is an Indian professional league for men's association football clubs. At the top of the Indian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), and their commercial partners Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), it is officially known as Hero Indian Super League for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp. The league currently comprises 11 clubs. Each season of the tournament generally runs from October to March. During the league stage of the competition, each club plays against all the other clubs in a round-robin style. Khangebam Thoi Singh (born 5 October 1990) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Real Kashmir in the I-League. Youth career Thoi started his career when representing his state Manipur in the Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy, a National level under-16 sub-junior trophy. Thoi signed his first professional contract with Chennai-based Indian Bank in 2006 to represent them in the I-League 2nd Division. Robin Singh (born 9 May 1990) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Bangalore Super Division club SC Bengaluru. Club career Early career Born in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, Singh started playing cricket and football at an academy in Noida at the age of nine years. He played with them at many youth tournaments. He started playing his football with former Indian footballer, Anadi Barua. At the age of thirteen Singh had to make a choice between either football or cricket and choose football as that was the sport he enjoyed most playing out of the two. Pawan Kumar (born 1 July 1990) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for I-League club Delhi. Career Youth and early career Born in Gurdaspur, Punjab, Kumar has played with several I-League clubs like JCT, Air India, and Salgaocar. While with JCT, Kumar led the side to the 2010 Durand Cup final where his side lost 1–0 to Chirag United at the Ambedkar Stadium. Kshetrimayum Malemnganba Meitei (born 5 January 1992) is an Indian professional footballer who last played as a midfielder for Gokulam Kerala in the I-League. Career Early career Born in Yairipok, Manipur, Meetei started playing football from the age of seven years after watching the Brazil national team during the 1998 FIFA World Cup.
