2015 Winter X Games
Winter X Games XIX (re-titled Winter X Games Aspen '15; styled as Winter X Games Nineteen in the official logo) were held from January 21 to January 25, 2015, in Aspen, Colorado. They were the 14th consecutive Winter X Games to be held in Aspen. The events were broadcast on ESPN. The games featured participants from the United States, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Japan, New Zealand, France, Switzerland, Italy, and Australia. Participating athletes competed in six Skiing events, eight Snowboarding events, and five Snowmobiling events. There was also a '' Counter-Strike: Global Offensive'' exhibition tournament organized by Major League Gaming. The United States won 31 of 57 medals awarded, with nine other countries medalling. Aspen, Colorado
Aspen is a home rule municipality that is the county seat and the most populous municipality of Pitkin County, Colorado, United States. The city population was 7,004 at the 2020 United States Census. Aspen is in a remote area of the Rocky Mountains' Sawatch Range and Elk Mountains, along the Roaring Fork River at an elevation just below above sea level on the Western Slope, west of the Continental Divide. Aspen is now a part of the Glenwood Springs, CO Micropolitan Statistical Area. Founded as a mining camp during the Colorado Silver Boom and later named Aspen for the abundance of aspen trees in the area, the city boomed during the 1880s, its first decade. Nate Holland (born November 8, 1978 in Sandpoint, Idaho) is an American snowboarder. Holland won a gold medal in ''Snowboard Cross'' at the 2007 Winter X Games XI in Aspen, Colorado. Omar Visintin
Omar Visintin (born 22 October 1989) is an Italian snowboarder, specializing in snowboard cross, for which he won a silver and a bronze medal for at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. Visintin competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics for Italy. In the snowboard cross, he finished 2nd in his 1/8 round race, then 2nd in his quarterfinal. However, he did not finish his semifinal and did not start the small final, finishing 12th overall. As of September 2014, his best showing at the World Championships is 22nd, in the 2013 snowboard cross. Visintin made his World Cup debut in March 2008. Kevin Hill (born June 27, 1986) is a Canadian snowboarder. He competes primarily in snowboard cross and represented Canada in this event at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang. In January 2022, Hill was named to Canada's 2022 Olympic team. Iouri Iourеvich Podladtchikov (russian: Юрий Юрьевич Подладчиков, born 13 September 1988) is a Russian-born Swiss snowboarder. He rides goofy stance. He has competed since 2000. He won the gold medal for the halfpipe at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. Career Russian-born Podladtchikov grew up in Davos, Switzerland, and started snowboarding in 2000. is a Japanese snowboarder, from Gose, Nara. He won silver in the halfpipe at the 2013 FIS Snowboarding World Championships. In the 2014 Winter Olympics, he won a bronze in the halfpipe. Danny Davis (snowboarder)
Danny Davis (born June 22, 1988 in Highland, Michigan) is a professional snowboarder. He was voted 2006 Rookie of the Year in the Transworld Snowboarding Riders Poll Awards, 2006 Rookie of the Year for Snowboarder Magazine, and 2008 Snowboarder Magazine Top 10 Riders of the Year. In January 2010 Davis won a snowboard Grand Prix event but not a spot on the US Olympic Team for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. He suffered a back injury in an ATV accident, ending his 2010 season and Olympic aspirations. Danny finished in 10th place at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. Christopher Devlin-Young (born December 26, 1962) is an American alpine ski racer and two time Paralympic Champion, who resides in Campton, New Hampshire.
