2015 Wellington Sevens
The 2015 Wellington Sevens is the 16th edition of the tournament as part of the 2014–15 Sevens World Series. It is hosted in Wellington, New Zealand, at the Westpac Stadium. Format The teams are divided into pools of four teams, who play a round-robin within the pool. Points are awarded in each pool on a different schedule from most rugby tournaments—3 for a win, 2 for a draw, 1 for a loss. The top two teams in each pool advance to the Cup competition. The four quarterfinal losers drop into the bracket for the Plate. The Bowl is contested by the third- and fourth-place finishers in each pool, with the losers in the Bowl quarterfinals dropping into the bracket for the Shield. Damien Hoyland
Damien Hoyland (born 11 January 1994) is a Scottish rugby union player who is signed to Old Glory DC in Major League Rugby. Age grade rugby The James Gillespie's HS former pupil represented Scotland under-17 as well as Edinburgh at under-16, under-17 and under-18 levels. He was part of the Scotland under-17 Sevens team which took part in the Youth Commonwealth Games on the Isle of Man in 2011. The 2016 New Zealand Sevens was the third tournament within the 2015–16 World Rugby Sevens Series and the seventeenth edition of the Wellington Sevens. It was held over the weekend 30–31 January 2016 at Westpac Stadium in Wellington, New Zealand. Format The teams were drawn into four pools of four teams each. 2014–15 Sevens World Series
The 2014–15 Sevens World Series, known for sponsorship reasons as the HSBC Sevens World Series, was the 16th annual series of rugby sevens tournaments for national rugby sevens teams. The Sevens World Series has been run by World Rugby since 1999–2000. This series also, for the first time, doubled as a qualifier for the 2016 Summer Olympics, with the top four countries qualifying automatically. Itinerary The schedule for the 2014–15 Series was released to the public in early March 2014. Wellington Regional Stadium (known commercially as Sky Stadium through naming rights) is a major sporting venue in Wellington, New Zealand. The stadium's bowl site size is .
