2015 USA Sevens
The 2015 USA Sevens (also sometimes referred to as the 2015 Las Vegas Sevens) is the twelfth edition of the USA Sevens tournament, and the fifth tournament of the 2014–15 Sevens World Series. The tournament is scheduled for February 13–15, 2015 at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Format The teams were drawn into four pools of four teams each. Each team played everyone in their pool one time. The top two teams from each pool advanced to the Cup/Plate brackets. The bottom two teams from each group went to the Bowl/Shield brackets. Whitney, Nevada
Whitney (formerly East Las Vegas) is an unincorporated town and census-designated place in Clark County, Nevada, United States. The population was 38,585 at the 2010 census. Background Stowell E. Whitney, a dairy farmer from Bunkerville, Nevada, purchased a ranch in the area in the 1910s. The town of Whitney was established in 1931, when Whitney subdivided his ranch due to the construction of the Boulder Highway. Much of this land is now within Henderson city limits. He didn't attract many buyers, since this took place during the Great Depression. A Whitney post office was opened the following year. Marius van der Westhuizen (born 6 January 1984) is a South African professional rugby union referee, currently on the Premier Panel of the South African Rugby Referees' Association. He is well known for his dominant match involvement and for ensuring his home team the Bulls get the rub of the green, whenever possible. Fhatuwani 'Rasta' Rasivhenge (born in Johannesburg on 3 January 1986) is a South African rugby union referee who is a member of the South African Rugby Union (SARU) Premier Panel. He was appointed to referee the final of the rugby sevens tournament at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Career Rasivhenge has been a regular referee on the IRB Sevens World Series circuit since the 2011–12 season and also refereed in South African domestic rugby union competitions, the Currie Cup, Vodacom Cup and Varsity Cup since 2010. Rasivhenge was also a rugby sevens referee during the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. Matt O'Brien
Matt O'Brien (born 22 July 1981) is a New Zealand-born Australian professional rugby union referee. He has officiated on the IRB Sevens World Series circuit since 2011 and was appointed to the Super Rugby referees panel for 2014 and 2015. Family and early life O'Brien was born in Southland, New Zealand and is the son of former international rugby referee Paddy O'Brien. He studied pharmacy at the University of Otago where he played as a winger on the University's rugby team in the early 2000s, before he moved to the Gold Coast in Australia and established a pharmacy business.
