2015 Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2015 Sun Belt Conference men's basketball tournament was held in New Orleans, Louisiana from March 12 to March 15 at Lakefront Arena. The tournament winner received an automatic bid into the 2015 NCAA tournament. Opening round games were televised on ESPN3, with the championship game on ESPN2, on Sunday March 15. Seeds Only the top eight teams advanced to the Sun Belt Conference tournament. If a team ineligible for the NCAA Tournament should finish in the top eight, its seed would fall to the next eligible team. Teams were seeded based on conference record with a tie breaker system used to separate teams who are tied. The top two seeds received a double bye, and the third and fourth seeds received a single bye. The Senator Nat G. Kiefer University of New Orleans Lakefront Arena (commonly Lakefront Arena or UNO Lakefront Arena) is an 8,933-seat multi-purpose arena located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The arena is home to the University of New Orleans New Orleans Privateers, Privateers New Orleans Privateers men's basketball, men's and New Orleans Privateers#Intercollegiate sports, women's basketball teams. It was built in 1983 and renamed in 1986 in honor of Nat G. Kiefer, the late state senator who aided University of New Orleans, UNO's efforts to obtain state funding for the building. Ron Hunter
Ronald Eugene Hunter (born April 7, 1964) is an American college basketball coach and the current men's basketball head coach of the Tulane University Green Wave. His son, R. J. Hunter, was a first-round draft pick for the Boston Celtics. High school Hunter attended and played for Chaminade-Julienne High School in Dayton, Ohio from 1978 to 1982. Coaching career IUPUI From 1994 to 2011, Hunter served as the head coach at IUPUI. Under his direction, the team advanced from an NAIA program to NCAA Division I. Kevin Ware Jr. (born January 3, 1993) is an American professional basketball player who last played for Club Deportivo Hispano Americano of the Liga Nacional de Básquet. He is a former player for the University of Louisville. Ware received widespread media attention when he suffered an open fracture of the tibia in his right leg during an Elite Eight game against the Duke Blue Devils on March 31, 2013.
