2015 Six-red World Championship
The 2015 Six-red World Championship (often styled the 2015 SangSom 6-red World Championship for sponsorship and marketing purposes) was a six-red snooker tournament that was held between 7 and 13 September 2015 at the Fashion Island Shopping Mall in Bangkok, Thailand. Stephen Maguire was the defending champion, but lost 4–6 against Judd Trump in the last 32. Thepchaiya Un-Nooh won in the final 8–2 against Liang Wenbo. Prize money The breakdown of prize money for this year is shown below: * Winner: 2,500,000 baht * Runner-up: 1,000,000 baht * Semi-finalists: 500,000 baht * Quarter-finalists: 250,000 baht * Last 16: 125,000 baht * Last 32: 62,500 baht * Group stage: 31,250 baht * Total: 8,000,000 baht Round-robin stage The top four players from each group qualified for the knock-out stage. Six-red World Championship
The Six-red World Championship is a six-red snooker tournament, played with the six and six . Ding Junhui is the reigning champion. History The event was first held in the 2008/2009 season, and was known as the Six-red Snooker International. The event was organised by the Asian Confederation of Billiards Sports. Forty-eight players were divided in 8 round-robin groups. The top four from each group moved into the knock-out stage. In 2009 the event was renamed the Six-red World Grand Prix. In 2010, it replaced a rival tournament (sponsored by 888sport) as the official six red snooker world championship, after the other event—held once in 2009—was discontinued. The event was not held in the 2011/2012 season, but it returned for the 2012/2013 season with the backing of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association. Graeme Dott
Graeme Dott (born 12 May 1977) is a Scottish professional snooker player and snooker coach from Larkhall. He turned professional in 1994 and first entered the top 16 in 2001. He has won two ranking titles, the 2006 World Snooker Championship and the 2007 China Open, and was runner-up in the World Championships of 2004 and 2010. He reached number 2 in the world rankings in 2007, but a subsequent episode of clinical depression seriously affected his form, causing him to drop to number 28 for the 2009–10 season. He then recovered his form, regained his top-16 ranking, and reached a third World Championship final. Michael Holt (snooker Player)
Michael Holt (born 7 August 1978) is an English former professional snooker player from Nottingham. A former world Top 20 player, he has won one ranking event – the 2020 Snooker Shoot Out – and two minor-ranking tournaments. He has been runner-up at two ranking events – the 2016 Riga Masters and the 2019 Snooker Shoot Out. He also reached the semi-finals of the 2013 Shanghai Masters as well as five further quarter-finals. Noppadon Noppachorn ( th, นพดล นภจร; born 24 February 1968) is a former professional snooker player from Thailand who played a number of matches on the world snooker tour between 1992 and 2002. He played as part of the 1996 Snooker World Cup Thailand team with fellow professionals James Wattana and Tai Pichit. 3 times Noppachorn reached the final 32 of professional tournaments. Michael White (snooker Player)
Michael White (born 5 July 1991) is a Welsh professional snooker player from Neath, Glamorgan. Nicknamed ‘Lightning’ due to his fast playing style, White is a former top 16 player and two-time ranking event winner. A highly rated junior, he became the youngest player to have made a century break in competitive play aged 9, and won the World Amateur Championship at 14. White won his first ranking event at the 2015 Indian Open, before breaking into the top 16 during the 2015-16 season and capturing his second ranking title at the 2017 Paul Hunter Classic. Muhammad Asif ( ur, محمد آصف) is a Pakistani Professional snooker player who represents Pakistan in different international tournaments. He is a two-time winner of the amateur IBSF World Snooker Championship. In 2022, he turned professional. Kristján Helgason (born 27 March 1974) is an Icelandic former professional snooker player. Career Born in 1974, Helgason turned professional in 1995. Yuan Sijun (Chinese: 袁思俊; born 29 May 2000) is a Chinese professional snooker player. Career Yuan started to play snooker at the age of 10 and played as a wildcard in many professional tournaments between ages of 13 and 16. Yuan first drew attention in 2016 when, at the age of 15, he defeated world number 13 Martin Gould in a 5–0 whitewash in the opening round of the 2016 China Open before losing 2–5 to Graeme Dott. John Higgins
John Higgins, (born 18 May 1975) is a Scottish professional snooker player. He has won 31 career ranking titles, placing him in third position on the all-time list of ranking event winners, behind Ronnie O'Sullivan (39) and Stephen Hendry (36). Boonyarit Keattikun (born 5 October 1995 in Nakhon Nayok, Thailand) is a Thai former professional snooker player.
