2015 Sasol League National Championship
The 2015 Sasol League National Championship was the 7th edition of the Sasol League National Championship since it was formed in 2009. It was held at DP de Villiers Stadium in Sasolburg. Cape Town Roses were defending champions. They were defeated 5-0 in the final by Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies. Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies surpassed the goal scoring record (16 goals) set by Cape Town Roses in the 2014 Sasol League National Championship when they defeated Galeshewe Ladies 25-0. Andisiwe Mgcoyi scored 10 goals in a single match to exceed the previous record of 6 goals set by Nocawe Skiti of Cape Town Roses in 2014. Sasol League National Championship
The Sasol Women's League is the second-tier South African Women's association football league, sponsored by Sasol since 2013. It is semi-professional, and operates as a provincial league, with two "streams" of 8-10 teams in each of South Africa's nine provinces (in some cases, multiple streams per province), and each province's champion then competing in a single-location National Championship tournament. The championships two finalists are then promoted to the (professional, first-tier) SAFA Women's League, while the bottom two teams in each province'standingsare relegated to the SAFA Women's Regional League of their respective province. Jerry Tshabalala is South African professional soccer manager and current head coach of the SAFA Women's League side Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies. The Tembisa born native is one of the most decorated coaches in African women's football. He won the inaugural CAF Women's Champions League and the 2023 CAF Women's Champions League. Lerato Kgasago (born 21 September 1991) is a South African soccer player who plays as a midfielder for SAFA Women's League club Mamelodi Sundowns and the South Africa women's national team.
