2015 Omloop Van Het Hageland
The 2015 Omloop van het Hageland was the eleventh running of the Omloop van het Hageland, a women's bicycle race in Belgium. It was held on 8 March 2015, over a distance of around Tielt-Winge. It was rated by the UCI as a 1.2 category race. The race was won by Belgian rider Jolien D'Hoore of the team, who won the sprint from a front group of eleven riders. Preview Several UCI Women's Teams like , and did not participate because they rode the Strade Bianche in Italy the day before. A main favourite Ellen van Dijk () could not start due to a back injury – as the team did not have any reserves following Strade Bianche, Larissa Havik competed as a guest rider for the team, so the team had the fewest riders to start. Jolien D'Hoore
Jolien D'hoore (born 14 March 1990) is a Belgian former track and road cyclist, who rode professionally between 2007 and 2021 for the , , , and teams. D'hoore is a 29-time national track champion as well as a four-time national road champion at all competition levels. She won the bronze medal in the omnium at the 2016 Olympics and during her career was one of the strongest sprinters in the women's peloton. Since retiring as a rider, D'hoore now works as a directeur sportif for UCI Women's Continental Team . Career Most notably, she won the Belgian national road race championship in 2012. Ellen Van Dijk
Eleonora Maria "Ellen" van Dijk (; born 11 February 1987) is a Dutch professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Besides road cycling she was also a track cyclist until 2012. Van Dijk is known as a time trial specialist and is five times world champion. She won her first world title on the track in the scratch race in 2008. She became Road World Champion in 2012, 2013 and 2016 with her respective trade teams in the team time trial and in 2013 also in the individual time trial. In 2015, she won the time trial at the first European Games and the silver medal in the team time trial at the world championships. Chloe Hosking (born 1 October 1990) is an Australian professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Hosking has represented Australia at junior and then senior levels since 2007. Following success in a number of international events she turned professional in 2010. Amy Pieters
Amy Pieters (born 1 June 1991) is a Dutch professional road and track cyclist, who is contracted to ride for UCI Women's WorldTeam . She was a member of the Dutch team that finished sixth at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the team pursuit (together with Ellen van Dijk, Kirsten Wild and Vera Koedooder). On 23 December 2021, Pieters was placed in an induced coma and underwent emergency surgery to relieve pressure on her brain caused by a fall that day during a training ride near Alicante with the Dutch national track team. Lauren Rollin (born 21 November 1990) is an Australian former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2012 and 2021. A female road cyclist from New South Wales, Australia, Rollin studied a Bachelor of Planning at the University of NSW in Sydney part-time as well as cycling for NSW and Australia at local, interstate and international events. Janneke Ensing (born 21 September 1986) is a Dutch former sportsperson, who competed in speed skating in the 2000s before becoming a cyclist, competing for seven different teams between 2009 and 2021. Career Speed skating In 2002, she was the Dutch national C-junior champion. Two years later she won a bronze medal as a B-junior. At the 2007 KNSB Dutch Single Distance Championships Ensing finished 10th over 1500 metres. 2015 Strade Bianche Women
The 2015 Strade Bianche was the first running of the Strade Bianche Donne, a one-day women's cycling race in Italy that was held on 7 March 2015. The race started in San Gimignano and finished on Siena's Piazza del Campo and was run entirely in the province of Siena, in the Chianti (region), Chianti region of Tuscany. The inaugural edition was spun off the Strade Bianche, men's event, which started in 2007, and had a Union Cycliste Internationale, UCI rating of UCI category, 1.1. The event was won by American Megan Guarnier after distancing her teammate Lizzie Deignan, Lizzie Armitstead and Italian Elisa Longo Borghini during the final stretches of the race.
