2015 Oklahoma Sooners Football Team
The 2015 Oklahoma Sooners football team represented the University of Oklahoma in the 2015 NCAA Division I FBS football season, the 121st season of Sooner football. The team was led by two-time Walter Camp Coach of the Year Award winner, Bob Stoops, in his 17th season as head coach. They played their home games at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Oklahoma. They were a charter member of the Big 12 Conference. Conference play began on October 3, 2015 with a 44–24 win against West Virginia in Norman, Oklahoma and ended with a 58–23 win against Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Oklahoma on November 28, 2015. Bob Stoops
Robert Anthony Stoops (born September 9, 1960) is an American football coach. He was the head football coach at the University of Oklahoma from 1999 through the 2016 season, and on an interim basis during the 2021 Alamo Bowl. He led the Oklahoma Sooners to a record of 191–48 over his career. His 2000 Oklahoma Sooners football team won the 2001 Orange Bowl, which served as the BCS National Championship Game, and earned a consensus national championship. Since 2020, Stoops has been a head coach with the XFL, coaching the Arlington Renegades in 2020 and has been re-signed for 2023. Stoops played college football at the University of Iowa as a defensive back from 1979 to 1982. Rodney Anderson (American Football)
Rodney Anderson (born September 12, 1996) is a former American football running back. He played college football at Oklahoma. Early years Anderson had a standout high school career at Texas football powerhouse, Katy High School in Katy, Texas. Anderson saw his first varsity action as a true freshman in 2011 due to some upperclassmen injuries. After winning the 5A state title as a sophomore in 2012, he would go on to be the number one feature back in 2013 and 2014, making the 5A state finals both seasons. Anderson amassed 5,493 career rushing yards on 603 carries. He originally committed to Texas A&M University to play college football but changed his commitment to the University of Oklahoma. The 2014 Russell Athletic Bowl was a college football bowl game played on December 29, 2014, at Orlando Citrus Bowl Stadium in Orlando, Florida. This was the 25th Russell Athletic Bowl. It was one of the 2014–15 NCAA football bowl games that conclude the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. It was sponsored by the Russell Athletic uniform company.
