2015 NHL Draft
The 2015 NHL Entry Draft was the 53rd NHL Entry Draft. The draft was held on June 26–27, 2015, at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida. The first three selections were Connor McDavid going to the Edmonton Oilers, Jack Eichel going to the Buffalo Sabres, and Dylan Strome going to the Arizona Coyotes. Eligibility Ice hockey players born between January 1, 1995, and September 15, 1997, were eligible for selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Additionally, undrafted, non-North American players born in 1994 were eligible for the draft, and those players who were drafted in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, but not signed by an NHL team and who were born after June 30, 1995, were also eligible to re-enter the Draft. FLA Live Arena (previously known as the National Car Rental Center, Office Depot Center, BankAtlantic Center, and BB&T Center) is an indoor arena located next to Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, Florida. NHL Central Scouting Bureau
The NHL Central Scouting Services (CSS) is a department within the National Hockey League that ranks prospects for the NHL Entry Draft at specific times during the hockey season. Players are ranked based on how well they will translate to the professional game in the National Hockey League. It was founded by hockey executive Jack Button in 1975 to establish a centralized database of NHL prospects. Button served as the director until 1979. Its current director is Dan Marr. The Department consists of staff at the NHL Offices in Toronto, along with eight full-time scouts, and fifteen part-time scouts throughout North America. To report on prospects playing in Europe, the NHL employs the services of Göran Stubb and his staff of six scouts at European Scouting Services based in Finland. Ivan Provorov
Ivan Vladimirovich Provorov (russian: Иван Владимирович Проворов; born 13 January 1997) is a Russian professional ice hockey defenceman and alternate captain for the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Provorov was born in Yaroslavl, Russia, and played with the Yaroslavl Lokomotiv youth hockey team before moving to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania at the age of 13 to play with the junior Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights. Oliver Kylington
Oliver Kylington ( ; born 19 May 1997) is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenceman for the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League (NHL). Kylington was born in Stockholm and grew up in Sundbyberg in the Stockholm urban area. He was drafted 60th overall by the Calgary Flames in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Early life Kylington was born in Stockholm to a Swedish father and an Eritrean mother. Mitchell Marner (born May 5, 1997) is a Canadian professional ice hockey right winger and alternate captain for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected fourth overall by the Maple Leafs in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Minor While Marner was growing up, he began developing his on ice skills with 3 Zones Hockey School. Michael Špaček (ice Hockey)
Michael Špaček (born 9 April 1997) is a Czech professional ice hockey forward. He currently plays with HC Ambri-Piotta in the National League (NL). Špaček was born in Mariánské Lázně, Czech Republic, but grew up in Dašice, Czech Republic. Playing career Špaček made his Czech Extraliga debut playing with HC Pardubice at age 17, during the 2013–14 season. Špaček had played as a youth within the Pardubice organization since 2010. Lawson Crouse (born June 23, 1997) is a Canadian professional ice hockey winger for and alternate captain for the Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League (NHL). Joel Eriksson Ek (last name sometimes stylized as Eriksson-Ek, born 29 January 1997) is a Swedish professional ice hockey centre for the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL). Jacob Larsson (born 29 April 1997) is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenseman currently playing with the Belleville Senators in the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL). Noah Hanifin (born January 25, 1997) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman for the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League (NHL). Defence or defense (in American English) in ice hockey is a player position that is primarily responsible for preventing the opposing team from Goal (ice hockey), scoring.
